A simple dial fit into a complex case, and a solid build all the way around. The Eagle is impressive. Check them out on Instagram at: @zeloswatches and online at: zeloswatches.com
In my opinion, the most interesting watch you have reviewed without being silly and exaggerated, very comprehensive review of its features. But, I must say I have never heard anyone saying 42 mm is a very small size, for me 42 mm is my maximum size without looking ridiculous, yet I enjoyed your realisation that that notion was instilled in you due to your past in the watch business
+tyzator Thanks! Yes, looking at overall sales in the US in sports watches for men (anything not considered a "classic" or dress watch), the average runs 44mm and up. 42mm was the standard before 2006 when we began to see so many brands emerge with larger and larger cases sizes. It took a long time for the most prestigious brands to follow suit, but they eventually did, with only a few brands holding out. Even Rolex themselves, the longest holdout I can think of, managed to take their sport line up from 39mm to 44mm (in the newer Deepsea model). In Europe, smaller case sizes still dominate for the masses.
I didn't know huge watches were that prevalent in the US but I must say that I am fro Europe so my views don't reflect other places. Thank you for the detailed answer!
+tyzator No you are right, in all honesty over 45mm is rare in anything other than an exaggerated sports watch or a brand like U Boat that is based around the idea of making oversized watches. 42mm is one of the most common watch sizes and actually sort of largish. The new Tudor everyone is salivating for at Baselworld this year is only 38mm for example.
Karkarov I think it’s more about preference, which is influenced by wrist size and possibly body size! 38 mm to 40mm is not meant for everyone! In all honesty, I have noticed women sporting watches 38mm to 40mm and loving this size! I have tried on watches In that size, and I honesty look at the 38-40mm watch as somewhat small and almost feminine, depending on the total watch configuration. I understand that there are enthusiasts and watch collectors that are very conservative and do not ever want to appear flashy! I think that 44mm to 46mm is the sweet spot; regarding sport watches...
Oh, and the hammerhead 1000 meters dive watch is currently on preorder right now , I think it's a not a very expensive watch at all considering the quality you are getting
