Real nice to see a couple miramar squadrons in this video like the red devils! I may live about 200 miles away but I can't help but consider miramar a local base!
I was stationed there from 87-90. In 88 or 89 I was tasked with returning parts to all squadrons during WTI. I had a 100% validity, which was the highest percentage at the time. That's my only claim to fame in the Corps. Lol
@@TheNellisSpotter that's awesome. I figured the Hind was involved, and I've heard several are operated by contracted "red air", i just haven't seen it until now. I also heard some Su-27s do the same thing..
I didn’t know we were still operating the Harrier? Thought the now deployed F35B’s retired them all officially? Awesome video BTW! Wow!!!! I’d LOVE to go sit and see some of these! Man those F5’s in advisary colors! So cool
@@kyler2744 oh wow thanks for the info. There’s an in cockpit go pro video of an F35-B performing a vertical landing on a sailing amphibious assault carrier and the pilot says the days of the terrifying Harrier vertical landings at sea are long gone,..the push of a single button and my B-model will pace and land itself with hands off controls of I wanted to. Short take offs can also be done with the push of a button and no pilot input. Definitely more expensive but the Harriers legendary status and combat roles won’t be forgotten. The Britts are purchasing F-35B’s replacing harriers but they still operate quite a few correct? Thanks for the info.
Osprey I was at a small airport near the wright brothers memorial So excited to see an osprey I thought I was recording but when I went to play it back I push the wrong button never to see it again.rookie me
