This is the Manchester airport I remember as a kid!. Think my generation were probably one of the last to see such a large variety of different looking aircraft in one place!. It’s a lot more boring now when you’re only seeing primarily twin engines as opposed to some more unusual ones
The 1990’s certainly seems to have been the best time to have been a spotter at Manchester. All the different airlines & aircraft types made it a paradise for those into aviation. I’m really enjoying all these videos of my local airport so many thanks John 👍👍👍
Wow some memories there , Caledonian , Britannia , Sabena , Air Tours , Air 2000 , I only flew once with Britannia , from Belfast to Munich via Bristol and subsequent return and I’ll remember it as having some of the best in flight service I’ve ever experienced and the leg room ! Is it just me or does anyone else think that the old Delta and American liveries were much classier looking than today’s ? Anyway, thanks for posting.
I flew on that Tristar, Loch Rannoch to Tenerife in 1993. I remember the service was amazing with choice of meals and because of the 3 hour delay at Manchester, the Captain offered all passengers complimentary drinks before landing...geeees those were the days, gone forever!
Also flew on this to and from Malta in 1995. One of my most memorable flights - in particular as we did a go around. What a time! Didn't know how good we had it back then.
Fantasic, what memories. Certainly not the same as it was. Yes please, do upload more videos. Unfortunately at that time I was too young to have any recording device but lots of memories of the schedules as a kid.👍

I flew Britannia 737 200 ,Dan air Comet 4 & British Airtours 707 out of Manchester in the mid 1970 ‘s when it had only 1 terminal building & even bigger variety of Aircraft & airlines .Just mainly boring twin engine clone versions of various size takes on the original Boeing 707 shape these days .Back in the day we proper jets that thundered up into the sky . Aircraft like 737 200 ,727 ,707 ,747 ,BAC 1/ 11 DC 9 .Tridents ,VC 10 .old Comets ,Super Caravelles .These modern jets sound like hair dryers ,no after burn flames & sparks coming from rear of engines to make things exciting as your climbing up at steep angle after take off .The golden days of aircraft have come & gone .
I was just thinking that the only airline missing was Peach Air and lo and behold it pops up at 5.09. Caledonian used them when their planes went tech. We had the misfortune to fly on the Peach L1011 when Cal's DC10 called in sick, no IFE except for the complimentary newspaper and a free stopover at Gander to refuel.
@@johnstewart5363 my mum worked for Air 2000 shortly before she died, and this was the time I was about 5/6 years old and used to go every week. Real blast from the past!
