For the japanese beetles, I've seen people use the scent traps to draw them away from the garden. They hang the traps somewhere far from the garden and the beetles go to them leaving the plants alone. Worth a shot , good luck
My aphid infestation is directly connected to ants. Good work, good luck. The ants are picking the aphids up and puting them back on the plants! They r icky
