Spraying budget clear with a hvlp spray gun

Logbook all your settings! I always log the gun, tip size, clear, base, reducer, hardener, humidity, temp, and dew point. I don't spray enough to feel comfortable guesstimizing. Last weekend, sprayed Epifanes varnish on my front door. So many life experiences and YOUR channel made it happen! Varnish over mahogany wood is a different animal. I'm gonna give it 8 weeks, and then a light sand for a final glass-like coat. Keep up the great videos and content! Look forward to your next video!

Gotta keep a log book for each gun. Always record pressure, temperature, humidity, and dew point for each shoot. Just like a sniper looking for that cold bore shot. Great results! Great content!

Looks great upk! I have never used that clear but have seen others use it. Although it might be the last thing I need I now have a personal project! A Jeep Sahara it's going to be green yellow orange color flip with matte black trim and top just to be different. Got new LED lights all around fog lamps and black rims . I am oddly excited about all the extra work this is going to mean to me and all the late nights to get it done😅 but it will be worth it. 8:20 a.m. time to hit the garage

I have sprayed many, many gallons of this product. NAPA sells it in their stores. I painted my Sons Mustang 20 years ago, still looks good without any problems even in the Florida sun.

one last ? for tonight ,what lacquer thinner you use to clean your guns?

YES SIR, The Finish 1 FC-720, i've been using it for a while on smaller job, and its really good! I normally put 3-4 coats and then flow coat 2 more to get that deep shine...Can't beat it for the price!

I have used this clear before, its pretty good. Only thing is to only buy what you are going to use as the shelf life sucks once you open the can. I came back a few months later and the clear mixed up fine and then just sprayed pure chunks and sputter.

Hi UPK, now that finish was a 100 times better compared to the fender you tried the gun on, I did mention in your other video that you could try turning the fluid in a couple of turns from full so it may have been me you mentioned here, anyway like you I don't like the extra overspray this gun puts out at 35-40psi but I do feel that this pressure is it's sweet spot but you did a great job on the bedside so maybe 30psi is also ok🤔 Have a good day King!👑🤭😅👍John UK

King you done a great job on keeping it off the stick and over all looks really good.yep the fc 720 is good but I want to try to add a 5%slow reducer.later I want to try a high end clear for my 89 corvette to see if it flows out better with less orange peel

This is the clear I've always used and it's an good clear coat I have never had issues with it

I've used that clear and it does a good job, now at a different paint supplier all I use is Nason base and clear, I've used four or five different clears and some of the ones I've used I will never use again do to no matter what you just can't get it looking to what I like for the jobs to turn out ! You almost have that gun to the perfect setting ?

What up UPKing, have you heard of the Atom-X series guns? I use the Atom-X88 for base and Atom-X27 lvlp hte for clear. I spray at 27-28 psi with fluid 2¹/² turns out while using the same clear and that shit rocks. Good quality clear and it flows so nice. I would like you to check out my 1990 Honda Accord coupe I jus recently painted using the same clear with 3 different pearls over a grayish/silver metallic base. The final color was by accident as you really can't turn back or change your mind once you start laying it down. I mixed way to much pearl into my clear but this accident was a Homerun for sure. It's a great clear imo. Ive went through tons of it. Just so you know the Sherwin store on 16/John R rd usually runs deals on it. I believe recently they had it for 79 or 89 for the gallon kit.

Great clear! One of the first ones I used in my garage.. also great dial in .. I knew you would figure it out.. have a quick question about the so called “EXODUS luma 3 spray good. Can a small compressor push it?? Or what’s the cfms? Checked everywhere can’t get an answer. Thanks bro!

I use the FC 720 complete and FC 710 spot panel acme Sherman Williams first finish all the time and get great results, nice leveling and a good price for high solids clear

Hey King...I was just spraying one last coat of jet black and something dripped off me or the gun or the ceiling...looked like water so I tried to dab it and BAM, THERE GOES THAT PERFECT PAINT AGAIN. This is rough. Anyhow, can I ask what you would do with dab marks in black base? I tried burying it with more coats but it's terribly obvious. Whatchya think?

Finish1 is a good product made by Sherwin Williams. Once i have gotten used to LVLP guns i don’t care too much for LVLP guns any more.

I use the finish1 clear and I like it, but with the fluid 2 turns from closed with hi psi dose that make the paint come out dry? The truck looks really good.

I spray that with a spectrum black widow gun from harbor freight I've switched to the whole Sherwin Williams line they also have a FC 740 that is a super brilliant clear like $140 for the kit
