Nice to see a honest company not trying to jump on the bandwagon and sell expensive kit that offers no benefit. I don't really think electrostatic spraying will translate very well to largescale disinfection applications to be honest. It's been tried in agricultural spraying for many years with limited takeup. The problem is you can't control the environment or oppositely charge the target object like you can in a paint shop. Some of the electrostatic disinfection sprayers on the market also produce droplets that are way to big and there is no way they have a sufficient charge to mass ratio to be effective. Again, really nice to see some honest advice and a company not giving into the temptation to oversell a product. Ultimately this will earn you more trusted customers over time. Keep up the good work.
If you want a Quaternary based product check out Steramine. You get 150 tablets per bottle which cost about $5 per bottle. Each tablet will produce a gallon of 200ppm solution and I have been using the Steramine mixed at 400-600 ppm. Check it out and let me know what you think.
Alcohol based cleaners are very conductive and not suitable for normal electrostatic sprayers. The only exception is the water based electrostatic spray system that would work with alcohol based cleaners as they are both very conductive. The down side is they are very very expensive and I’m sure there are cheaper electrostatic misting systems out there in the agriculture sector.
Hi, Sir or anyone, could you answer is this correct? If I connect the positive line to the nozzle, then i connect the negative side to my hand. Also, do i need to connect negative side to the paint at painter container, maybe to the bottom of the container?
@@PittsburghSprayEquipmentCo We to have the backpack. Works amazing, used far less chemical than most brands. Coverage is amazing and uses way less chemical than most other brands! Not to mention the three way adjustable spray nozzle is supreme! Can't beat on the fly micron adjustment!
Hi thanks for the video. I've seen others using airless sprayer machine to spray disinfectant. I have a Graco airless spray machine but the manual says it shouldn't be used for spraying disinfectant. Do you have any idea why the manual would say so? Would the disinfectant increase the wear and tear of the pump?
Because they cant guarantee the internal components wont fail when facing the ingredients (active and non active) that are in the disinfectants. also disinfectants are dilluted typically so your looking for a more water friendly setup when you read something like that, its telling you the sprayer this isnt for a waterborne setup basically.
Tasty Aloha, I work in the disinfectant application industry and I think a fogging spray would work. The electrostatics help with attraction of disinfectant to the surface and help it spread out evenly, but when used at the right distance and speed (2ft per second) you can get a very nice even coat with a fogger. The electrostatics also help keep a room from getting to cloudy, so with a fogger you should have plenty of ventilation. Electro is a great system, but not the end all be all.

Vital oxide can be used in electrostatic spray, purtabs are another. Vital oxide is rtu formula and the other is a drop in tab that comes in different sizes and dissolves in about 2mins, there are other options, it's about application and what kind of dwell time you need with the product your applying also. If you took a electrostatic probe tester and dropped it into water how conductive do you think it is? I'll tell you its most definitely not .1 to .01 megaohms
You can buy dichlor tablets at your local pool supply shop (assuming they're still open for business) and dilute them about to the manufacturer's instructions (although, you might want to concentrate about two orders of magnitude higher than standard pool water). This will generate hypochlorous acid, an FDA-approved disinfectant for coronavirus, as well as cyanuric acid, a UV stabilizer. This is the same technique that the Victory/Protexus electrostatic sprayer uses.
Unless it's hypochlorous acid (HOCl). ENTs and ophthalmologists actually recommend you apply it to your nasal cavities and eye conjunctiva to eliminate infection.
Please look to the video. Do you see the wavy wall on the right hand side of your screen? That wall is actually an air wall. Thee are fans behind that drawing a larger steady flow of air toward it. This flow of air draws the material being sprayed to it and allows for usage without cumbersome masks.
