Have to say Cars’, if there is ever an award given for driving a 45 year old sprayer through 10’ tall corn at 8.2 mph WHILE getting awesome drone footage of you and your brother working in tandem you will win it hands down! I may need a still shot of that blown up to hang in my office.

lol, Going through the field then suddenly stopping at openings as you're afraid there's a hole. That's fun. I remember the video when you got stuck. :) Also yes this drone footage and music was nicely edited.

The drone views of those sprayers in the field with the corn standing back up behind them like a wave was pretty cool for sure. I couldn’t imagine being a critter in the middle of the field and hearing yours bearing down on me.

the good thing about large breakdowns with old equipment is it means its gonna run another 20 years now

Your best bet to find the hyd leak in the cab is to clean/degrease everything, then watch closely for a seep. It could be a line, valve bank, or just a loose fitting. Higher end hyd shops can make custom steel lines, if needed. You could also put down some cardboard and watch for where it starts to get wet, that will give you a starting area. Loved seeing them in the corn, very entertaining.

Hi Carson! Absolutely loved the video! Just love those sprayers! I hope you guys never upgrade to newer sprayers!! Where else can we watch farmers driving those and laughing constantly while driving them! Love the sound of it without the muffler too. Hope you don't pick the muffler up in the combine! Stay safe and healthy out their buddy!

That straight pipe is a common issue. I know lots of people with modern equipment/pickups that hit bumps and all of their emissions equipment magically comes off🤭😅😂😂

@@6thGenFarmer for your hearing.. get an hearing protection headset with Bluetooth.. 3M worktubes or the middleclass of Prohear, every buck invested now, saves U 100$ for hearing aids and batterys later in live, new equipment is so dead quiet and comfortable compared to old machinery.

Has your family ever considered attaching drop down wands to spray above with current nozzle and drop down to spray part down under the canopy to catch bottom of leaves/better coverage on lower leaves?

In the pas we have run drop nozzles in between the rows yes. Honestly not for sure why my brother went away from it this year

have you ever thought about buying a bigger sprayer for you farm?
@6thGenFarmer
@6thGenFarmer 2 года назад
We have but they are just so expensive. Our main prayer at the moment is a R 4038 but cannot spray fungicide in corn because it does not have enough clearance. Fungicide is not a guaranteed moneymaker so we like to spray with these old sprayers because any profit we do make his profit rather than trying to pay off a sprayer

Photoshopping the sprayer too, as we look, the left and behind pretending it's your brother when it's very obviously fake, and the chemical company expect us to trust them? Lie about something this easy and tell the truth about the rest? I will not be buying any of their product, ever. I'm also un-subscribing from your channel, I guess the first of many, not that you have many to start with.
@6thGenFarmer
@6thGenFarmer 2 года назад
😂ok bud, I was wearing a different shirt in the drone footage but that’s as real as it gets. First of all you can’t photoshop a video… secondly, even if I did know how to add a completely different sprayer with a different boom setup why would I make up such an elaborate lie to waste soo much time? The trial and footage is as real as it gets. I didn’t make any claims about this specific product but rather fungicides in general, and if this stuff sucks I’m going to let everyone know because lying is overall bad business….
@Beyonder8335
@Beyonder8335 2 года назад
It’s clearly real dude, if he had that kind of VFX skill he’d be working in Hollywood not farming. If it were faked he would have needed to: -Create a perfect 3d model of the different boom setup -texture it perfectly (something that takes professional vfx teams months and a crap ton of money for movies) -adjust all of this to the perspective. If you look at the rows they all visually appear to point to the same area, so he would have had to make the sprayer match that position. -animate hundreds if not thousands of corn plants individually being moved by the sprayer moving through. So in conclusion, no, I don’t think anyone else is dumb enough to unsubscribe. Also I’m subbing now, because it’s real good drone footage.
@stephencoster9532

@@Beyonder8335 the two were supposed to be over a foot different in height yet these two are the same plus if you look you can see the block of corn moving with the machine. I did not spot this and I worked in film and TV for years, my 8-year-old grandson spotted it, don't call him out when he is right!
@Beyonder8335
@Beyonder8335 2 года назад
@@stephencoster9532 they look similar in height, but I’m not seeing this block of corn at all, and in addition the rear machine has a different hose setup behind the cab, where the other has nothing in the same area. Besides, he’d still have to alter the perspective to make it look natural. It’s also well documented that they have 2 of these machines in previous videos, they have the machines, and have proven honest in the past. Honestly even if they had the knowledge and skill to pull the fake off there’s really nothing to gain from it. It’s not like it’s on the thumbnail generating views, or anything of that nature. There’s neither motive nor means here
@ryankahler7760
@ryankahler7760 2 года назад
Okay. A number of points. First of all the difference in tire sizes is a foot of total diameter, so the clearance gained is 6”. This is 10’ to 12’ corn so a 5% difference in height. Pretty easy to see that the boom is tipped up more on the ends to clear the corn with one sprayer versus the other. Next is if you watch the corn coming up after the sprayer itself goes over it you can see that the corn is not pushed down as much going under the platform of one as it is behind the other one. Also the booms and the spray pattern coming out is obviously different. And lastly why would you spend hundreds of hours or more creating a fake video when you could just take drone footage of the two actual sprayers in the field as they were actually spraying.
@billupstateny9151

Probably better to lose the muffler in corn as opposed to beans if you will be finding it later w/ the combine. Hydraulic system on a 6000 is likely rudimentary, not too complicated to locate the issue. 🔩🔧🚜
@6thGenFarmer
@6thGenFarmer 2 года назад
Yeah it will be easy to find eventually but what I fear is the lines are steel and bent specific to these sprayers. If one is bad it will be nearly impossible to find a new one
