When I was young we called Nardo Gray Primer Gray, so I guess the kids that sprayed their entire cars with primer were just ahead of their time.

I’m going to buy all the gear and paint and do it on my 1985 Vmax it only has 11,000 miles and I’m thinking of bright yellow with metallic five coats of gloss for the fenders gas tank and two side covers with the Scoops and wheels being Gloss black to match the engine

I'd love to see the interference over an off-white base, like Avalanche Grey. It's nearly white, but not quite, so you'll get a stronger effect. As for what pearl, I'd love to see you layer two pearls, see how they play off against each other. That or just use KP's Hawaiian Coral

how bout a polaris yellow with a green or red interference? kinda make a candy apple effect, or even try to get the pure mazda red everyone loves by using a red base and a red interference to make it appear glossy and metallic

Wow I live I Sacramento die LAKERS Die hard but Kings advocate. I would look so fabulous hoping out of my 2019 dodge challenger rt with black 24inch rims its granite in color. With a layer of that on it wow. So yea try doing clashing colors a bright laker yellow with the purple coat. I'd call it KOBE 24/8 or maybe a black with giants burnt orange

My wife's '93 steel gray MR2 needed a repaint about 10 years ago, we kept it factory gray, but added an purple interference pearl. She gets all kind of compliments from folks- A classic '93 turbo MR2 in excellent shape, with subtle-to-style paint!

Hi i have painted my bmw z3 mettalic purple and i didn't apply the clearcoat yet. I have some gold pearl and i would like to see if it would look nice before going forward. My original idea was staying within the mettalic purple pearl with a bit of green in it similar to cameleon powder . I hope you can help .. Thanks

How much material is 'leftover' on these project typically? If there's enough leftover, it'd be sweet to do a die-cast car as well and give it away to a random subscriber. Same Car, same combo, and a real epic conversation starter. Also, gonna second interference purple over a bright green base as F&S Fishroom suggested!

Man I've wanted to see this guitar finish on a car. It's a crackle finish I saw on a guitar. Joe Satriani plays a guitar they call chromeboy. No another guitar company is going to do the chrome but with green swirl metallic underneath. I cannot wait to see that in person. Is that even possible on a car. I know that's not necessarily a "Dip" thing. I just had to ask. Car looks SIIIIICK!!!!

That was cool. Hows this for a challenge. Maybe a 4th of july special. Go full patriotic. White base. Bottom of vehicle a red pearl. Top of vehicle a blue pearl. It dont even have to be done like that. Just a separation between the 2 pearls or fade in.

I have always loved most of these color picks but, I don't like the choice in automobiles used. I have a Jeep and a Chevy and nothing that you guys really use to test paints on match up in the body styles. I know, it seems a little petty but it is really just a preference when it comes down to it. I had a 1968 mustang fastback a long time ago

I chose the red martian....but looking at this result......woow...tho for me the purple could have been of a darker tone, i thought this one leaned a bit towards the pink, tho the result still was amazing!....keep it up and thanks for the experiment!

What would an interference pearl look like over the actual paint job without a dip undercoat? Could you just do multiple coats of the interference pearl so that it would peel properly? Or would that ruin the effect?

🤮 this is the problem when you have achieved such great things like the chrome and the orange to black. It gets harder to raise the bar but using the ugliest grey known to man doesn’t help much

Can you use interference pearl in clear topcoat over a stock white (paint) car? Or would i have to apply white dip over my white car to topcoat with this effect??
