I have my grandfather's old cub. I think it is a '48 model. Wish I had that manure spreader and little loader tractor! I'm going to fix it up, but before the magneto gears stripped off, that tractor ran like a sewing machine. No choke. No battery, crank start only. It never took more than a couple of cranks. When we lived in town, I took my kids to the park through side streets.
Dad said he had a model A doodlebug he made with two transmissions in it back to back. He would put it in low gear, then jump in the trailer and spread manure with a shovel
If you can pull it faster, it flings better, but it’s a load on a Cub (even though the spreader was designed for one). My fiends are rough too and that’s not helpful. Thank You for watching
I'm buying a 1 owner 48 cub with 2 attachments model 193 field plow, and 1 row field cultivator no hyd lift but comes with draw bar left side mechanical lift handle & right side plow depth handle / Getting a good deal I think , I thing I was going to mention ir also comes with the reipt from feb. 13. 1948 says $818.00 think that icludes the 2 attachments in the price not sure. so at around 1400 or 1500 dollars I'm not paying that much mor than it was new. Because i've seen the moldoard plows go for 250 and the cultivator must be worth couple hundred now back to your video
I guess I didn’t realize until this video that the Cub pto spins opposite of modern tractors which seems odd but at the same time makes sense to me because some friends of mine had a farm years ago and they had one of those Cubs(I don’t have any idea what year the Cub was) and all they ever used the pto for was running the bale elevator for bringing hay bales up into the hay loft. Then they used all the other tractors for spreading manure, cutting and baling hay etc… Excellent little tractors though. I’ve always wanted to get one even though I don’t have much property to use it on.
They’re a cute little tractor with a lot of parts availability. I’ve heard of PTO converters that change the direction, but have never seen one. I have seen an adapter that goes to a modern 7-spline, but it still runs backwards. Thank You for watching
Wow, that’s a great little spreader. Was this a model designed for the Cub and/A? That would be ideal for our small farm and little Massey 1526. Looks fun with the Cub 👍
It holds 40 bushels and you can adjust the apron chain speed. I can usually haul, spread, and return to the pile in less than 15 minutes. I’d guess it takes less than 5 minutes to unload it. The spreader works better on a bigger tractor than aCub. I often use the international 140
