The denim trend I'm most excited about is ANYTHING GOES!! I love that finally, first time in my lifetime, people can enjoy wearing whatever they want, and if they're well put-together, it looks great and stylish! And yes, for white or light-colored jeans (or trousers of any kind), having a bit of ease makes them look much better. Thanks as always!
I’m 5’3” and I love them! I have 4 pairs😬 It probably does suit a specific body type though. I have narrower hips but I’m petite and curvy (bigger booty and thighs) and I think they are super flattering.
ANNA, I’ve been bingeing your videos lately while I am at home solo. I just wanted to say you have such a sweet and kind personality. Besides the content of your videos is wonderful.
I'm only 5"1", 116 lbs. and I bought a pair of barrel leg pants, not jeans, over a year ago at Banana Republic. They are ankle length, not exaggerated at all. If you stick with the ones that are not super exaggerated, they look really cute!
After near death experience I laugh more freely now at the silly things we humans do. Life is so very short & it can give us a different perspective like being able to laugh at ourselves. God is so loving & merciful! Think on him!
I'm so glad cuffed jeans are back! I am almost a long inseam, some regulars inseam are too short, cuffing makes any awkward length land exactly where I need them to or makes my shorter jeans look intentional lol. But I agree, not on flares and most boot cuts unless maybe a baby boot.
I’m loving the barrel jeans! I have several pairs from Free People and I always get compliments! I can see how these would not be great on everyone. I’m pear shaped so they work well on me.
I'm looking forward to skinny ankle jeans coming back. Last year when it seemed out I still bought a couple pairs of them since they are just so convenient which suits my lifestyle. I don't like the super stretchy ones, but those made of classic heavier denim. I absolutely love straight leg jeans too.
I've been wearing them for two years! I love them. (Of course, people look at me like I'm from Pluto, but, as a New Yorker living in Maine, that's kind of par for the course.)
@@jenn6692 Agreed! I'm 5'2" and slim, so I'm overwhelmed by really radical denim shapes. A moderate barrel leg with a pointy ankle boot, though, looks GREAT on a small person. Much better than these huge things that pool at the ankle. Those make me look like a six-year-old with gray hair and a bad attitude - not really the look I'm going for.
I have been obsessed with denim maxi skirts it’s a unique elevated take on an outfit that you typically would wear jeans with and I have been loving light wash jeans they are just so airy and fun 💕
I prefer darker wash jeans rather than the light washes. I find them more versatile with my cool coloring . I actually wear black jeans most of the time in fall and winter.
That video insert of that lady wearing the barrel jeans. Not laughing at her, just the look. They look like cowboy leather stirrups or makes someone look like they had rickets as a child
I have thrifted every single trend in all the jeans/pants styles you listed. Made my own cuffed. My barrel jeans are long old navy that still had tags on (I’m assuming they didn’t like them) but I love them. Wore my super wide cargo jeans out with cute peplum top and got compliments from the 20 something’s I’m 62 lol. I have too many jeans. But it’s what I mostly wear
Good morning from Southern California! I live in denim all year round, love it in many styles! Im petite and 55yo so the baggy barrels or oversized anything are a no. Just any style that is classic, timeless and scaled for petites im in!
I noticed that the Amazon jeans have a lot of distressing or "shading" on the thigh area. In general, less expensive jeans have some kind of more noticeable distressing, while nicer brands have more subtle shading. Just my observation. Both can look good depending on the style of the jean and your body type. ❤❤❤ Personaly, I am loving the ulta high waisted jeans! Old Navy has some really good ones they call Sky High. 😊
I have 3 pairs of old Old Navy high -waisted jeans, wide legs and flares in med/dark denim and one pair in light wash. They fit me like a glove, the denim is thick and good quality and they look awesome. And the prices are great. I'll never buy a pair of $100 jeans.
My favorite spring 2024 denim purchase is a lightweight medium-wash denim big-shirt. Proportions work well belted over a maxi dress or skinny jeans or shorts. But the versatility extends to the beach as a coverup or a jacket layer when those lake breezes roll in. The durable fabric holds up well to sand and surf contact and shakes out well after cooking in a beach bag all day. And wet spots don't look so out of place that you can't wear it over a bathing suit to stay warm in a restaurant on the way home from the beach. I love white and sand colored jeans, skorts and midi- and maxi-skirts. A denim shirt layers well over a lord beach print too. A light bottom is a great way to extend the season of a solid fall/winter sweater..
Anna, I love all your content. Ive been binging your videos for weeks now. I would love to see a closet tour and more about building a wardrobe with items that will last, where to buy elevated basics, and how to dress stylish for work. I work at a hospital but can wear anything above jeans and sweatpant. Also, I am plus size, I loved your video on looking taller and slimmer, more of that please 😊 Love you ❤
I am so here for the return of cargo pockets. I have been eyeing a pair of lemon yellow, wide leg trousers from target, so maybe this is my sign to buy them.
Denim pencil skirts just above the knee or mid-knee, check out how Olivia Palermo wears hers with a denim shirt. I got tired of my denim maxi skirt and have just had it shortened to make it into a pencil skirt, it looks lovely worn with knee high boots too x
Love the high waisted and the trouser jeans. I am 4’10” and with a bootcut trouser jean, with a high waist, my legs look so long! You have to wear them with the right shoe, though. Thanks Anna!
The J Crew jeans looked great on you. 😍 I bought a pair of COS arch jeans in black and they are so good. I’m 175cm with long legs and they are the perfect but unfortunately the same pair in dark blue were a bit shorter so I had to return them. I’m considering ordering the barrel leg jeans from Everlane but they are a bit more exaggerated in the leg 🤔 I live in Australia so I can’t try before I buy 🙁
I also dislike denim jeggings....I think you mentioned that in one of your recent videos. I own a couple short denim skirts. I won't be wearing them until they are back in fashion. Lol. Thanks Anna for this! ❤
Denim is my safe place I will also be wearing my denim jackets of all lengths. I wear jeans in blue , black and grey is my white- I don’t dare wear white pants, just not practical for me. I love a raw hem, and I think the charcoal color is edgy- love it. No mini for me, I just don’t feel comfortable in that short of a hemline unless I have tights and high boots and a long coat on. Yay denim!
Flare jeans are also very popular right now, and a huge trend, as long as they are not too much of a bell bottom. If anyone is looking for more affordable, surprisingly great fitting jeans, go for the Old Navy “Wow” jeans. I do size down 1 size, as they do have some stretch, and hug all the right places!
My favorite jeans right now are the mango wide leg jeans with 33 inch inseam. They are barely wide leg so not overdone, but so flattering. The length is full length for me with flats or kitten heels…even higher heels work which make them super versatile. I recently purchased in white and blue denim. Joes bootcut and Paige leenah wide leg are great staples jeans for me as well that I’ve had for last three years. I also have the j crew wide leg in the chambray wash and black…they are really good, too. I have a pair of the Abercrombie straight in a lighter wash, but they don’t look as good on me as my other denim. I’m tall and thin and they just don’t enhance my figure but just emphasize my straightness if that makes sense. I’m loving all the jeans right now! I have many pairs of white denim that I wear on repeat. Great video!🎉
It’s fun that all denim trends are in for the most part, so we can all choose what will suit us best body wise in style and fit. The slight barrel leg jeans look nice, but the more pronounced barrel jeans, give the illusion of being bow-legged, which is not a good look. I have my eye on an a-line collared, long sleeved, denim dress, so I was wondering if that’s is a good look? Ty😃
I wish my jeans fit higher like yours. Shortgirlproblems I guess. The rolled legs are more my height lol. I am very glad for low rise! I have a belly ring and the high rise really bothers it so much. They say they aren't great for an hour glass figure, but I don't care they just feel better.
I also have an A-line knee-length denim skirt, very flattering and more forgiving than a tighter pencil skirt if you have a bit of a tummy to hide. I like more traditional denim shirt dresses, I have a lot of vintage ones from GAP, both long and short sleeves, I leave several top buttons undone and wear them with a graphic T-shirt underneath. Another great look is Jackie O's white jeans with a blue t-shirt - a timeless classic. I sometimes wear triple denim lol with a denim tote in a different wash. I'd love you to do a video about cool totes, they're particularly great for summer
I’m always skeptical about wearing my ripped skinny jeans because everything seems to be so baggy now. Also, I’m never sure about cuffing or not cuffing, or how big the cuff should be on the bottoms of my jeans.
I love my denim cut out skirt and still wear it very often in the summer and spring here in Florida. What I do not like and think is out of style is the jeans look leggings
I enjoy your videos very much, didn't realize I never actually subscribed to your channel. Done! What do you think of the knee-length denim pencil skirt? Or the long denim skirt with a front slit? These two seemed to be the more recent takes on denim skirts.
The midi and maxi denim skirt lengths, split being anywhere, is much more on trend right now! I think we will see a lot of the midi denim skirts in late spring / summer ❤️
I really like the Jcrew jeans on you. I am looking forward to buying a pair of modest flare jeans this year. As for white denim jeans, I have loved them ever since I got my first pair at 13. I wear them every summer whether they are in or not.
I love your videos but I have a suggestion: when you are modeling the jeans show the back view, I would like to see what the rear pockets look like and also if the pants are flattering from the back. I never buy jeans without having a three way mirror to check out the butt view-- some jeans look amazing from the front but not from the back a different story!
Hi Anna I am loving your hair and the denim on denim look...love that shirt. I love that any style is in, but still think the really skinny looks funny and not seeing as much distressed. I am not throwing out my ones that have minimal distressing. You look great in everything. I am sure if you ordered more barrel leg styles you would find the ones that work. Thanks this was a great video. I wish I was longer waisted. I always say in Heaven I am going to have very thick hair and a longer waistline..lol In the Thrive part is your hair dried naturally...so cute. ❤❤❤❤❤
What about coated jeans? I adore them, it can really elevate the look but still be comfy! Banana had some good ones, Mango, even Levi’s has a gorgeous purple “candy coated”
Love the polished Jean look, just so hard to find the right length when you’re 5’1”. My denim maxi skirt touches the floor with heels on 😂 but I love it!
I love the look of the Amazon jeans! How are their size? I need a 2 and some of the reviews say they’re sized small. Thank you! Love your videos and look forward to them on Sundays!
