Spring Awakening's Deaf and Hearing Cast Discuss Connection and Communication 

The cast of Deaf West's upcoming Broadway revival of Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater's ''Spring Awakening'' is hard at work taking another look at the beloved musical through a new lens. But during a recent press event the performers and creatives ― including original Broadway cast member Krysta Rodriguez and original first national tour star Andy Mientus ― took time to explain just what makes Deaf West's revival unique. According to the show's creators, it's a fulfillment of the purpose of Frank Wedekind's original 1891 play, while Oscar-winning actress Marlee Matlin says it's about bringing people together.
