I'm from eastern Oregon and I travel to the lower river every salmon run. This info helps a ton. Thank you!

In April1985 I traveled to Portland and hired a guide from the area to fish for springers and he chose the Clackamas River. He fished cured egg sacks and fished various holes he knew of. First day nothing, 2nd day landed a 25 lb king. I took it to a fish smoker and they processed it and flew home with it, all boxed up. It was delicious, and it put up a great fight.

Great information thanks, I was right there outside Fred’s, marked a few but no takes on my herring. But a Beautiful Day it was.

Other fisherman competitors? The biggest competitors are the seals! Great content boys..

Thanks for the support! Seals and sea lions are an issue for sure. Take a look at ocean trawl fisheries...and...the scary numbers of predatory birds! These fish have so many challenges to survive for sure!

Cody, quick question, the main trolling area you showed where the majority of boats were trolling (shallow area next to the pilings) is that very snaggy?
@DayOneOutdoors
@DayOneOutdoors Год назад
It definitely can be! I like to fish off the bottom a foot or two in this area. Especially on incoming tide. Don't be afraid to fish suspended!

How old is this video? barbless hooks..not true
@DayOneOutdoors
@DayOneOutdoors Год назад
Not anymore, correct. The Columbia still is Barbless, so it is still relevant. It is always best for anglers to review regulations prior to hitting the water. Thanks for watching!

Was wondering the same thing. It showed our dock with a ship and there isn't one... great info though, thanks!
