Crape Myrtle. Try full sun. They flower on new wood, in the summer, once they start. Try also a 1-2-1 fertilizer and that should also bring it into bloom.

Thank you.... 🙏 😔 🙏 Dr. Chan, it so invigorating to see the spring bloom of plants, they all do it in their own way. There are so many varieties of plants at Heron's, so much to learn from each plant. Plans are so wonderful and with the Peter Chan as a guide there is so much to learn, especially in spring. Thank you so much for that bit obout the Ficus, now I know why they died. Thank you again. 🎄🙏 🖖 🙏 😔 🙏 🙏 🙏 🎄

Hi Peter. Where I live in Georgia crepe myrtles grow everywhere. If you want them to flower you’ll have to give it a little more heat in the summer and cut it back more. The more you cut back the better they flower

In north Alabama as long as crepe myrtles get at least 6 hours of sun lots of water and new growth and youll get flowers till almost frost.

Thank you so much for this video! I absolutely love maple trees and have been devastated over the amount of aphids I got on them and thought that I had done something wrong and was putting my maples in danger of aphids. Was almost about to give up hope but this gave me the inspiration to keep trying.

The temperature in Victoria Australia is warmer than there today. We've had a lot of days of 16-17 degrees. It's supposed to be winter. Not complaining, although my trees still refuse to go into dormancy 😅

@HootMaRoot
@HootMaRoot 3 года назад
@@katyb2793 you would be surprised our yearly average temp is about 12C it's only the wind and damp air that makes it feel so much colder. Winters usually about 8C but with 40+mph winds and rain it feels closer to 2 or 3 degrees C

@@HootMaRoot that's so interesting. What about your summer temperatures? Is it still raining and damp in summer?
@HootMaRoot
@HootMaRoot 3 года назад
@@katyb2793 summer April May June is usually dry but July and August can be really wet, but warmth and rain is great for grass and brassicas to grow. But this is for the west coast of Scotland as we get hit by all the weather systems coming from the Atlantic ocean. If it wasn't for the wind or if we had lots more trees to provide shelter it would feel a lot better Summer temps can be anything between 10 degrees up to 35 degrees and it can change overnight from high to low or the other way round

My I ask for some advice on what to do for a tree I going to let grow this year. It's a cockspur Hawthorne i forgot to treat it for the season and caterpillars ate all the flowers and a lot of the leaves. I don't think cockspur Hawthorne bud back. what can I do to help the roots and tree be ready for next year now that it has lost a great deal of its leaves.

I’ve always wondered this but never commented: do you put any nutrients in the sphagnum moss while you’re growing trees in it to promote vigor? I assume that you don’t because you haven’t mentioned it, but I have a maple that I found almost dead that I have in sphagnum moss for root growth so I thought I’d ask.
