Hi. Why use Brillo rather than valley brush, any specific reason?

The Simple Green really removed that crud. Very impressive, for sure.

I’ve just cleaned mine in Australia. It’s honestly the best grill plate I’ve ever used. Anyway lol at “Simple Green”, “Scrubby” and “Brillo”. For those in Australia, it’s Morning Fresh, a scourer and a sponge. The concentrate Simple Green is sold at Bunnings. Today I learned.

I use a degreaser also but to make sure those babies are really clean I hit them with my 3200 psi pressure washer with degreaser in it. They look brand new every time.

We'd love to see a picture of your cleaned and washed GrillGrates. I have not power washed them in a couple of years- thinking might be good to do this weekend!

hm, not having Simple Green around (I am in EU), what would you suggest as an alternative?
@Grillgrate_eat_well

Any mild de-greaser (meaning no gloves or googles in the instructions) Avoid oven cleaners and anything to caustic. A hot water soak in DAWN dish soap (known for grease cutting) is just as good.

So this is what Walter White is up to nowadays.

After a 5 hour soak in hot water and lots of Fairy liquid it was still very hard to clean! Took me at least 2 hours of scrubbing. I have 6 of them

Hi George. They will always be stained and dark color. I run the raised rails with the scraper tool or brillo and then back on the grill. You will get a bit of flaking of some buildup on the sidewalls of the rails on first heat up. #GrillOn

You can also just use Dawn Dish Detergent Soap and let it soak.😂

I'm cleaning mine after every use. They're good and seasoned in the grooves, but It appears that is way too often. I typically use an SOS pad and water. How often should they be cleaned?
@Grillgrate_eat_well
@Grillgrate_eat_well 7 лет назад
That is very fastidious of you but people do that- especially if they are keeping them indoors or using on the road. But on a back yard grill - depending on how often you grill. We grill alot and I clean mine twice a year. In between cooks a lot of debris sheds from the GrillGrates and scapes off with the GrateTool or our Valley Brush. You may want to clean them 3-4 times a year?
@gcatman98
@gcatman98 7 лет назад
Thanks...I'm sure you grill more than I do, but I'll try to cut back some. After three years, they're still doing great.

Great video! I will have to do this over the weekend. My grill grates are completely covered in grease and all of the holes are plugged. I may have to add a little more simple green to get them clean.
@Grillgrate_eat_well
@Grillgrate_eat_well 8 лет назад
+Mike V Take a paint scrapper and use the point to pop the holes clean- you can get pretty aggressive- scraping the back side often will pop those holes too

Ever heard of a pressure washer? You should do that once a year on your driveway anyways...But in reality all you need to do is simple green and a garden hose.

Well My home and cars in are in top notch condition, so not sure what that passive aggressive comment is about. My point is....You are looking for something to complain about for no reason ,or you're just to lazy to clean up
