I had my second baby two weeks ago and let me tell you, it's so wise to be ruthless when clearing out your closet pre-baby. Once I became a mom, all I wanted to wear was super simple, comfortable clothes that were effortless to style and I ended up basically replacing my whole wardrobe. It's impossible to really predict what you are going to feel/look like after becoming a mom but you generally can't go wrong with high waisted, comfortable, easy to launder, and natural fabrics for those first few months or years. Especially if breastfeeding or doing a lot of baby wearing. I haven't even touched some of the more fun pieces I had from college, partially because I don't want to ruin them and partially because my bust never shrunk back to pre-baby size! So excited for you, Allison!

Just did a big closet clean out this weekend! I’m hosting a clothing swap with all my friends for Earth day so we can give all our unused clothes a second life 🌎💚👗

Declutterring always feels so good! But even better when you’re pregnant & know there are things you can’t currently wear. I pray for you that post pregnancy your foot size doesn’t change ❤ mine went up a whole half size! Apparently that can happen lol… I never knew. Mama needed to do some serious shoe shopping after my shoe declutter.

It never ceases to amaze me how many clothes others have. I have 1/4 of the amount of this much clothing. . . BEFORE de-cluttering 😅

Don't forget to keep pieces you might want to give to your daughter or son. I kept things for my daughters, and I'm so glad I did because it was a special gift to see them enjoy them. Especially since my oldest has been gone, I cherish her clothes now and wear them all the time. I also got a hope chest, my mom's recommendation when I was pregnant to keep special baby things they wore or keepsakes to show them and have for their children. I only have one daughter now who may not have children, but I cherish those material things even if it's ego based. I would rather have my daughter, but I'm grateful I have so many things of hers to hold. ❤

Allison you spoke my thoughts aloud for the past few years when you laughingly questioned why you as a Florida girl had so many puffer jackets. 😂 As an ex-Florida girl it always made me laugh, but I know the struggle of the temperature volatility! Loved this video - wonderful to see your spark coming back after what I know has been a challenging period. 💓

I've never been pregnant, so I'm not sure if this would be part of nesting. Either way, it's very motivating and satisfying. 🩷 A "nest with me" video would be so cute! ☺️

Also remember that your body changes after having a baby so things you thought might fit do not anymore. My plan is if I have not wore it within 6 months I feel I am not going to wear it later. Plus things change and so do our bodies. I use to keep things thinking I would get back into it or the style will come back guess what not… I just try to pick a few new items each year for staple pieces.

Ok this is so relatable tho bc as someone who used to live in Florida and has family there, it’s so hard to get rid of clothes (I mean in general it’s hard because like you said you might regret it later) because you never know what you’re gonna need when you travel. Florida weather is pretty standard, rain, sun, heat, chilly sometimes, etc. but when you travel to other places and need warm clothes, sometimes they don’t even fit anymore or you don’t know what you’ll need. My grandma still lives in florida and I took her to Germany for the Christmas markets and went through her closet with her and I had to buy her some warm gloves and wool socks and she didn’t know what would still fit her lol it’s a struggle! I live in Washington now and we have all the seasons so it’s easier to maintain a “well rounded” wardrobe because you wear all the clothes every year

I love shopping new clothes (very few) and I gained weight so I don't like to keep things that don't fit me anymore and not so many 😅 That closet is huge compared with mine, only a closet(a piece of furniture, not a mini room 😂) for all 4 seasons. But I'm not that fancy and stylish like you 🥰

You should sell the clothes you give away! Your subscribers would love it and it’s more sustainable because you know it’s going to a loving home, whereas 9/10 donated items are thrown away! 💕

To me your closet just screams TJ Max! I shop there for lots of clothes and some things you have look like what I’d have from there.

I'm 4 months pp and I still haven't worn anything but sweats, leggings, and dresses! My body is holding onto a little bit of extra weight while I breastfeed, and jeans just aren't comfortable anyways.

Definitely have to move too small clothes out of closet every 3 months when pregnant and then back in postpartum!

Your local woman's shelter would love all those beautiful clothes! Make sure you are wiping the bottom of your shoes before you put them away...the bacteria on the bottom is astounding!

I think the closest feels so full is because your clothes are so chunky/thick and oversized. 🤷
