Hi! Honestly Maastricht is very safe and everything is close together so anywhere you end up within the city is a great location. I would only say that some listings are quite far from the city center which can be a bit of an annoyance just time-wise, but popping the address into google maps will show you how long it takes to get to your faculty or shopping center.
