Thanks for the reminder, I'm invited to a wedding in June, and will have to go dress hunting for the event in a few weeks. Hopefully, there will be lots of comfortable choices.
Sorry whilst I adore your channel the Luna bag is out of most of our budgets! $300 plus is not reasonably priced. Consider the diversity in your followers.
I hate strapless not because of how the dresses look but because the wearers spend all their nervous energy fidgeting with the dress. I have been to so many weddings where the bride is constantly tugging up her dress. It ruins the look entirely. Same for strapless sundresses. You can’t look chic tugging on the top of your dress.
5’6” J cup here. I agree, even for larger ladies, empire waist is comfortable. I wear a lot of different silhouettes but empire dresses are a safe one.
lol well I'm out of luck this season. I don't do strapless, one shoulder, bows, fringe, drop waist, babydolls, crochet, slip dresses or ruching. I do want empire but I guess I'm sol... Well my wallet will rest easy for a bit.
Crochet is impossible to create by machine, so all the crochet items you are seeing in stores were made by hand. If you are seeing them for affordable prices, you can be sure that the person who created the garment was paid next to nothing for labor that is quite taxing on your hands. I would avoid these.
waistline trends are just silly for me because different waistlines are flattering on different bodies. im 5'1 curvy with a large chest and not long legs, lol, if i ever tried a low waist anything id look so abnormal😂😂
Strapless has been in for the last 30 years. It's gotten to the point that if I see a wedding dress that is NOT strapless, I snap to attention and think WOW!!! WHAT A FANTASTIC DRESS!! Just because it is different! I remember my friend in high school worn 'one shoulder' tops.......that was 1977! 😂
Ok, I see this a lot and I blame marketing. Silk is a fiber. Satin is a weave. They are not mutually exclusive. You can have silk satin, polyester satin, or a blend. Silk can be in a satin weave like a charmeuse, or different, like a noil, or something else, but originally satin was silk before polyester was invented.
Im from Canada, grew up in the 80s and only my dad worked so we were on a budget! But my mom sewed beautiful items for the 4 kids including winter coats, dresses & even bedding !
Empire waist is back on trend for spring summer 2024 featured at Max Mara, Michael Kors and Zimmerman 🎉 I love Empire waist dresses it's such a forgiving silhouette 😊
You are killing it in that black fringed dress. I love the drop waist dresses too. I'll wear them.I still have two satin "slip " dresses from days gone by. I'll wear them and last year I found a maxi linen black halter dress, which love . I'm wearing that one this summer too. Thanks for keeping me on trend.
I agree with all of this...and I'm glad I never bought "the baby dress". Sometimes even if it's fashionable...you still have to say, NO!! 😂 Great video!! ❤
Don't like the bows ,reminds me of little girls 🙄 As for cold shoulders, there great for woman that have hot flashes 😂I think I'll stick with some of my older clothes .
@ANNAREID29 why is that?? I'm a rectangle shape but have something on top. Shifts are so flattering, but so often are tight across the shoulders and bust.
I bought 3 crochet dresses for the season 😂, it’s a silhouette that works well on my figure, balanced hourglass. Mine are French connection and free people for any ladies interested
Loved it! I think the success in most of those silk dresses were due to being cut on the bias. Really makes all the difference in the "fall" of the fabric. So complimentary. THANKS Annareid!
I don't care for the fringe trim. If it's a little bit it's ok but a lot of it for me, no. 😂 That tan dress & brown dress were adorable! I like SOME of the styles but not all. I don't know anyone that likes everything although I'm close lol. Thanks for another great video!
I dress for retirement. Yesterday, I bought 3 like new super cute tops at Goodwill for less than $9.00. Fashion should be affordable and flexible each season.
Girl, I adore your content, style, and personality, but your paid promotions are waaaaay too long. I want to hear about you and not as much from your sponsor.
I appreciate the feedback! Often there is a time requirement from my sponsors. Unfortunately, I am not retired or independently wealthy so I still have to earn a living but I only work with brands I absolutely love ❤️
@ANNAREID29 totally understandable and good to know. I wasn't aware of sponsorship criteria, so thanks for the explanation. Keep being fabulous, as always!
Your fringe dress is beautiful! Yeah oversized can move on. Bows? Are for babies and little girls. Unless scarves, scarf belts. I bought my first black summer dress last summer and love it! My daughter will love the rose trend as its her name 🌹. I’m using the rose 🌹 trend on my bedspread 😊. Always love denim my whole life 😊. Draping and ruching are very femininely flattering.
Never did the "cold shoulder" didnt need any help with making my shoulders looking linebackerish....im a crocheter and am working on a dress for myself...
I still think they are quite dated… also just because it’s out for sell doesn’t mean it’s trending (aka Amazon has so many items that look very dated! 😃) ❤️
My style is classic and probably will always be. When you are short and petite, you don't want to wear items that swallow you up.😮 i had my share of florals in the 90s and do not like them at all. I like you and your content, but there are no trends in this video that Iwould go for. One thing you learn as you become older and wiser, you can still look current and classy without following trends. Anneried, i must say the fringe dress looked beautiful on you. It was not over the top and was tastfully made. ❤
There's nothing that gives me more of the ick than someone who thinks things like "that's dated" "that's out". This is coming from someone who has superficial tendencies, won't leave my house without make up, is obsessed with clothes, cares too much what I look like & can be judgemental towards people who look a mess daily. But the wasteful better than you attitude someone has to have to think "that's dated" is beyond me. The only point imo of trends is to find what looks best on you. Clothing make up & hair wise. Otherwise, you're ending up doing things that look bad on you and that's stupid. EDIT: Also trends in clothing just feels so outdated to me. Like something most people haven't done since before I was born. Wear what you want. Don't let someone tell you it's dated. I'd rather Stand out than blend in.
Nah, I hate neutral boring bags. Keep your designer Gramma bags. TEMU has all the designs and colors for cheap. I got a sumptuous real leather color block bag from them for $30.
I like the new trends BUT some of the “out” dresses like Empire are not a trend. It is a classic design style. Like bias cut or A-line dresses. So, petite or high waisted girls look for a slimmer silhouette but buy Empire if that works for your body. The peplum is back so save your Empire dresses. They’ll be back next season. Also buy over sized dresses. They’re wonderful and look so effortless and casual but they’re not as full as past years. So buy a flowy dress that’s a slimmer cut. As a person of color neons are my favorite for summer, so I’ll be the brightest “what not to wear” girlie at brunch in a flowy, Empire waist dress 😂
Affordable handbags? I can rescue more than 10 dogs from the cost of one bag, no thank you. Way overpriced, I am not that shallow. Rescuing animals is more fulfilling in my life than a dumb handbag. I can see an extra use on the fringe dresses as brooms and the over sized dresses they are perfect for curtains, recycle girls!
The empire waist is not going anywhere for me. At 5’1” with long torso and short legs, this style is very flattering and leg-lengthening. If someone tells me I look dated so be it.
Some empire dresses make you look beginner pregnant even smaller women they need to be more fitted especially if you have a long torso and the shoulder exposure isn't for everyone either unless you've got REALLY toned arms then I find myself looking for some sort of coverage which sometimes it's to hot unless they're really vented
You used satin and silk like they are 2 different types of fabric. Satin is NOT a fabric. Satin can be made out of silk and often is. So silk and satin are not so different after all. maybe u meant polyester or rayon, shoot even cotton, but.. yeah
I would love a true-white cotton crochet dress, but they’re mostly ecru. The overwhelming majority are in synthetic-fiber fabrics, too, if not the crocheted part, at least the lining.
I love the looser mini dress look but it totally does not work for me ☹️ I’m an hourglass and if I don’t accentuate my waist (at the right place, dropwaist doesn’t work for me either) I look about 20 pounds heavier.
Love dresses for the summer, but I can't yet find a denim dress that both fits me and that I love. Faking it for now with a denim shirt and denim maxi skirt combos. Black is awesome that it is in style but I know I definitely can't wear it for anything for easter...but I have several dresses that work for the summer otherwise 😊
I personally try not to wear black to a spring wedding unless it’s black tie or cocktail. But if it’s fancy and the dress is a Spring style (and your heart is set on it) I would just pair it with nude or bright accessories (bag, shoes) ❤️❤️
I never liked the cold shoulder thing. Nor high-low hems. I like drop-waist dresses; elongates my torso ~20's style. Empire waist makes me look dumpy. Neon, lol. Whodathunk.
Hi- the videos you point to never show up on my iPhone is it just me? Can you link them in the notes too? Also - I find ruching REALLY doesn’t work to hide anything for me - again, maybe just me, but it always feels like the ruches highlight my bumps in larger ruching folds vs disguising them… and if I go a size up it just looks shapeless 🤷♀️. Love your videos as always ❤️
First of all - thank you for creating a good content, it's always interesting to watch! In terms of this video - agree with everything except high-low dress. Maybe it is not amongst the biggest trends, but it's not out of style either. In fact, high-low dresses are slowly coming back, they were seen on the Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2024 catwalks - Maison Margiela, Victoria Beckham and even Chanel considered high-low hemline good enough to show off. Selena Gomez wore high-low dress by Armani recently, probably some other celebrities too (can't remember them all). P.S. Empire waist is a classic, it doesn't really go out of style.
Hi…. I need a (wearable again) dress for a Kentucky Derby party May 4. And of course … an outrageous hat (probably not wearable again). Help please! I should also mention appropriate for 60ish young thinking women 🥰
Hi Anna, I always watch your videos with great interest and I love your personality and the way you present new trends, in your video you said the big trend this summer is orange, I was watching another fashion blogger and she said the big trend color this summer is ice blue on bags, what do you think?
Hello, can I ask you if cropped blazer has a long life? I would like to buy one but I am afraid next year I just cry on a money I spent. I am really buying less and only the things that will last
another fun video! thank you! You've inspired me to FINALLY try fringe! I want to purchase the green dress you showed in the bow section but didn't find a link for it? Please help 💕
Summertime is the only time I enjoy wearing dresses. They are such an easy-breezy option. In the handbag promo, can you please tell us what brand is of the brown sweater you are wearing?
