Just this very evening. St. Vrain River. The flow was up and off color, but not to off. Had Caddis crawling on me, big midge flies doing their thing… everywhere. With the cloud cover and dreary weather I knew it would be potential for a good Blue Wing Olive hatch. I was right, other than one thing….. No fish where rising. 😂 I stood there and looked across the way to a Great Blue Herron who shared a look my way. After a while (2hours) of enjoying the amazing views and bugs the Herron flew away fishless. I followed suit thereafter. 😂
