This weekend I took a trip out with my wife to do some spring foraging.
The challenge was to find enough food to supplement a meal using spring wild edibles. Then cook the meal.
It was a great day out and the food was superb!

Almost vegetarian Dan. Marvellous what grows in the English mud but you can guarantee Lolly won't. Well done Master Chef. Bushyboy Oz.

It was surprisingly lovely. The salad part was like a shop bought bag of mixed leaves. 😋

Hi Dan, very enjoyable video with you and the Mrs out foraging and cooking the bounty. Your Carly is a good sport and trooper going on these outings, always seems to enjoy them and you two are always upbeat it seems, great duo. Your pup Lolly is looking good, grown up in size but still a puppy to you I would imagine. Good job on picking the wild edibles, yes the app must help to be sure but the general knowledge of choosing is important as well. Meal prep looked professional and the enjoying must have been wonderful. Great video, well done as always, thanks👍👍 I'm hungry! See you next time.

Hi Dan, good to see you and the wife out and about mate. Good Video, excellent subject too. We all like a bit of wild freebeis. Poor old Lolly did not seem to like the mudding wet walk, But was very interested in the stake. Keep the videos coming bud always look forward to a CLB vid. Regards Moose

"Edible but not nice" - not for me then! I'd never be sure what is good and what is bad. I just go for stuff with labels - but stuck out in the wild with no supplies it's good to know the basics. Nice one Dan, cheers, Warren :)

G'day Dan, to start with, what a great little bimble with Carly and Lolly !!!!!!. Holey moley, more bush tucker there, than here ; ) Should be much, much more research into the nutritional and medicinal benefits I reckon. And yep some fantastic apps out there, though I do cart around a coupla, (indigenous plant and "twitcher") books on shorter walks. At the business end, I'm very impressed with what you did with that lot mate !!!!!!!!! ..... and for sure, wash everything, especially out of the supermarket IMO, reckon I'd I actually prefer a bit of animal pee, (within reason), ...... over chemicals, lol. Incidentally, I reckon we've both got the same oven/cooktop unit, if it aint the same brand, I'm betting it came out of the same factory ; ) And, I really wanted to do a stainless splashback too, ....... but my Mrs. wouldn't have it ; ( Anyway, moving on, ..... out of curiosity, ....... I'd be interested to know if you find more well known culinary plants making their way into the countryside, i.e. parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme, .... maybe chives, nasturtiums, rocket, fennel, dill, blackberry and such ? I once found a very healthy tomato off the beaten path, not sure if that's ultimately a good, bad or indifferent, thing, ecologically speaking, ...... though it was good at the time ; ) Cheers Duke. P.S. personally I'm gonna watch the lot anyway, but just noticed your chapter reference, nice touch, particularly for the subject matter 👍

Hey Duke, Thank you. it was a good day out. and a great meal to finish it off. As you know, this is not a big country, so you do get some cultivated plants thriving naturally, but never that far from a property. I think the honesty I found was a garden escapee to be fair.
