Come walk through the garden with me to see how things are growing! Some things aren't going as well as in past years, so I'll share the good, bad and ugly of how the garden is growing this year. Let me know in the comments of your successes and struggles this year!
I grew up on a farm on the edge of the Nebraska sandhills. A cattle ranch that bears our family name, founded in the late 1800s by my ancestors, is still owned and worked by my cousin. Life events have put me in the suburbs of a major metropolitan area in middle America, where my wife and I have raised our two kids. It's in this environment that I work to make as sustainable a life as I can, converting much of our backyard to grow food, including a garden, fruit trees and bee hives.
I attempt to use natural methods, as much as is possible, in my gardening and beekeeping. I garden organically and continue to learn to work with the soil and the plants, without the use of chemical supplements, herbicides or pesticides, to improve our harvest. Our honey bees are sourced from local colonies through swarms, trap-outs and cut-outs, and are kept, using treatment-free, natural methods, in Layens horizontal hives.

@@SuburbanSodbuster SW Washington State. Most of the problems has been to many Spring projects. That's what happens when ya are building a new bee yard and a new garden both at the same time.

I got a few plants and stuck them in a tank. I think they might grow if we get some good sun and warm days. But I don't care, we are having regular rains and that is such a blessing. Love your tour. Looks like it is growing since we were there.

Caught a swarm in this years trap on the chicken coup. The heavy rough cut oak swarm trap. Need to finish making frames for their hive. The astronomy domine sweet corn is doing great as always. The onion and potatoes I planted last fall are doing great. The raspberries are doing good. The blueberries are ripe. One purple pea about an inch and a half. Haven't made it to the U.p. of MI to check on stuff up there. But am going to soon. I just put sweet potatoes on a plate of water and grow the shouts out in water. Or the sweet potato rots.

It sounds like you've been about as busy this spring as I have! I'm glad to hear things are going well and I hope those Yooper bees are doing well once you can check on them.
