Åndalsnes is a small but very cozy town on the shores of the Romsdalsfjorden. It is surrounded on all sides by mighty mountains. And each street in the city is picturesque in its own way, and looks like a picture from a Guide to Norway! After all, colored, wooden houses against the backdrop of high peaks still covered with spring snow are one of the country's calling cards.
Our walk begins in the city center and passing through pretty areas, we go to the embankment, where the unusual building of the Norwegian Climbing Museum (Norsk Tindemuseum) is located, where you can study the history of the development of mountaineering from the very beginning to the present day.
And now is the time to stop and admire not the center or sights, but simple areas where ordinary Norwegians live. They are beautiful, fabulous, and very cozy located against the backdrop of the mountains! And definitely worthy of your attention!
And of course, in the city on the shores of the fjord, there is a sea sandy beach and a small harbor of Kammen with a very beautiful color of the water and waves pleasantly rustling over the pebbles.
Next, consider the red wooden church Grytten Kirke. It was built in 1829 and has the shape of an octagon. It will be quite interesting to move from one of the oldest buildings in the city of Åndalsnes to the novelty of 2021 - Romsdalsgondolen.
This is a cable car that takes tourists from the city's embankment in just 5 minutes to Mount Nesaksla at 715 meters high. There are many hiking trails at the top which are very popular in summer! The Eggen restaurant is also open.

Near the town of Åndelsnes, the bright blue River Rauma flows into the fjord. And on its banks, there are many campsites and places of recreation for tourists.
Not far from the city is the famous road - the stairs of the trolls "Trollstigen". This is a section of the Norwegian national road RV63, that was built in extremely difficult terrain and representing a piece of engineering art. But in the spring it is still covered with snow and closed, so we captured unique footage of Trollstigen sleeping under the snow in anticipation of the tourist season.
On the shore of the fjord in the town of Åndalsnes, there is also a modern Medical Center (Rauma Helsehus) with a beautiful wooden promenade, which is very cozy to walk along.
And in general, we recommend taking a walk around the city, drinking coffee on the yellow benches, and admiring the unique Railway Chapel "Togkapellet" located near the railway station right in the train car.
Mount Romsdalshornet is visible to the east of the city. Opposite it is the harsh Troll Wall "Trollveggen", whose majestic peaks hang vertically along the E136 road and the Rauma River.
It is also impossible not to pay attention to the ridge of snow-capped peaks in the direction of the town of Isfjorden. They are especially beautiful in spring!
And of course, the best place to watch the sunset over the city is from the popular Rampestreken viewpoint, where you can either walk up the Romsdalstrappa trail or go down the Nesaksla mountain where you can climb the Romsdalsgondolen.
But calculate your strength and watch the weather, both paths in the spring are not for beginners, as there is still a lot of snow on the trails.
