"Spring in Fialta," is a masterpiece of memory and missed connections by Vladimir Nabokov. This evocative short story whisks listeners away to a Dalmatian seaside resort, where the past and present blend through the wistful reminiscences of Victor. As he navigates the labyrinth of his own emotions and encounters with the enigmatic Nina, Nabokov's signature prose paints each scene with vivid, lyrical brushstrokes. Perfect for those who relish the bittersweet tang of nostalgia and the intricate dance of human relationships, this narration will leave you pondering the delicate intricacies of life and love long after the final words echo away.

..."running down a chance sentence"...."stone steps leading to nowhere"... . Elegant, masterful story and narration; thought provoking commentary. Gripping, captivating, also this time around. Perfect for a pouring-down, windy ordinary Thursday morning. Listening again and will again, for details previously missed. Much needed, much appreciated, Tony. Deep felt thanks.

To read a story ( aloud no less :) by this author w his complex, even complicated prose, and to make it seem so easy... I'm in awe of such a talent. Thank you Mr Walker.

I immensely enjoyed your reading. I have avoided Nabokov because of his importance. But, as I become older, I feel the need to seek out the better writers. I wish now I had come to him earlier. His writing is precise. It is as though I were reading a sudoku. Yes, he tells us Nina's fate in the beginning, but then led me down so many paths that I had quite forgotten it.

I loved this story and Italy was the perfect location. Ancient, vibrant and beautiful yet corrupted by all the human vices, desires and imperfections. A great listen, thanks.
