I have ALWAYS had a small lamp on my counter since I began my own home in 1989. It is a great nightlight for my family, we always visit the kitchen in the middle of the night so it keeps us from turning on the overhead lighting. Love love love!!!

When I bought this house it had a large tv on an arm in the kitchen........didtnt really like that.......now I couldnt live without it....lol.Years ago I had a refrigerator repairman during Christmas!He couldnt stop looking at everything and wanted a tour....lol.Love the barn picture!!!!And you hung it perfectly!

I can’t stand dark corners so I have 2 lamps sitting on my kitchen cabinets. The lamps create warm pools of light to showcase different decorative items that I love. Love your style to make a cozy home for your family. Your gorgeous smile and positive demeanor make my day! Thanks for posting.

Hi Crystal. Happy cooking in your oven. Glad it is fixed for you. Your decor is beautiful. You just put things here and there and it looks like it belongs there. Your barn picture is perfect on that wall. You have an eye for where decor will work. I am sure the repairman has seen worse. Going into people’s homes, I am sure he’s has seen it all. THOSE JARS are SO CUTE. With the white lid. I'm totally gonna DIY those. I also love starting with a candle too. Good smells keep me going and make me happy. I love the blue barn in the new stop. It looks so pretty there.

Yes, having a lamp on the kitchen counter is great. I also use one on my bathroom vanity counter. Sometimes I use them as night lights.

Yes..love a little lamp. That has been a very good decor item for counters for many many years. Cozy it up and you have a knack for decorating. Wish I could make my kitchen that attractive.

Totally Pro lamp in the Kitchen. Funny story, our over the range microwave died and we waited 3 weeks for our warranty replacement to come. I put a small lamp on the counter to help with the lost microwave range light. I loved it so much that I'm going to find a way to incorporate it full time. I adore cozy ambient layered lighting..... I took a dive and ordered those cabinet lights too. I've always been afraid to pull the trigger on a set. Yay!

There is nothing wrong with having a lamp on the kitchen counter providing you have space, the right location to place it, and you are able to hide the cord. I love it. l have a small-scale countertop lamp on my kitchen counter in the corner. At night it just adds a little more ambiance.

Very pretty. You can get the little battery operated lights with remote to stick in top of your little cabinet. It will highlight you little goodies inside. You never disappoint.

Try an outdoor rug under your table. It’s durable and you can always hose it off in the spring and summer if you need to.

I totally love the lame and the pie cabinet definitely changed up the counter❤️❤️❤️❤️, the hanging unit goes so well on the wall. I love how you decorated your shelves I don’t think it is cluttered at all. And I love the barn photo and the side cabinet looks awesome with the chicken wire is great decorated

Everything looks great but I feel the shelving is too crowded, as you said, and the sideboard too, as the barn picture is lovely and the large plants and the lamps pushed too close take away from it!

I love the idea of vinyl plank flooring. It’s fade resistant, 100% water proof and scratch resistant. I plan to get it in my entire condo except the kitchen, laundry room, and bathroom. I am not going to put a rug under my dining room as I have cats and they throw up food and hair balls. I also have allergies and my cat has asthma. No more rugs or carpet in my house.

Love the decor and with the cords in the kitchen i bought a white six plugs and put it in the kitchen and my phone and toaster all in one and only had to hide 1 space with docor works GREAT i think you would like it to

Absolutely love the chicken wire shelf and the barn pic where u have them now...perfect. would move pic up so that all of its beauty is showing...also maybe move lamps out to the side just a little too. Really enjoyed this video. Love all the changes, decor and placement of it. You make it look easy and it's therapeutic inspiration! I really like the barn picture and how you decorated the buffet. It's okay to block the picture a tad. It all goes together and makes that area homey, welcoming and comfortable.

I would definitely do a lamp or two on the countertop if I had as much space as you! More is more with me and it does add warmth. I just revamped my kitchen last Spring from sort of French Country to Farmhouse style and “organized” my pantry (it was organized at one point). Maybe I’ll add a lamp one Spring. I have that same problem with my built ins but I figured it out and now I like it! Love that wicker set. I thrifted the cups, I haven’t found the decanter... “yet”

Hi Crystal! I also have my chicken wire shelf on my sideboard. It matches mine really well and I just don't have space on my countertops. It makes me feel like I have a hutch too! I think if you move the barn pic up it won't seem "crowded." It doesn't bother me....I have the same pic and I just have to get my hubby to help me hang it. I bought it for one of my spare bedrooms which has all those colors. Yours looks great there. I love the idea of the rolling pins in the dough bowl! I'd do that if I had some shelves or more kitchen counter space. The shelves will come together the way you want. I don't feel they look at all cluttered, but guess everyone has an opinion. LOL This was such a beautiful video, Crystal....you did such a great job with everything! You truly know how to reuse a piece of decor in a totally different way, which is why I just love to watch you decorate. You were the first RU-vidr I watched, and you have never disappointed me with your choices.

That barn picture is perfect there! Love the way you did the table centerpiece and I actually think a rectangular rug would look great and would add more interest. You have so many cute pieces on your shelves but I feel kind of overwhelmed looking at all the things. I would take a few away to let it breathe but everybody has their own style for sure. My 3 Boys are Men now but, I haven’t forgotten the daily sweeping and vacuuming that used to occur after eating, no wait after everything😁. I had a rug under our table and I didn’t have a rug. I think the choice must be how willing are you to put into the extra effort the rug will be. My vote is use that extra effort in enjoying your sweet family. They will be older very quickly and then you can enjoy a rug. Love love your videos! They have helped make this loney time more tolerable! Thank you! ❤️

I would not put a rug under table. So much easier to clean the floor under without having rug in way. I’m 53 and thats from experience and moving 8 times. Love your account! I’m a cleaning freak too!

I vote Yes for the round rug under your table! We have always had a rug under our table and chairs. Even when the kids were growing up. Love all the decorations. I really like the little lamp you put on your counter top. I’m just a sucker for little lamps. It probably takes a night light bulb. Perfect!!

Twist your wire on back of pic or move wire up on back of pic so you don’t have to move nail in the wall.but it does need to be a touch higher. Loved watching ...you rock your decor!!!
