Dr. Alan also stressed that while matcha is generally safe, certain people - including those who must limit their caffeine intake because of a health condition - should probably avoid it. “If you are prone to arrhythmias or if you have heart disease, then matcha could be harmful for you,” she said. I normally have the most luck doing a planting to grow on spring. They don’t normally last long though 🤦🏾♀️. Have you tried planting them early and mulching them?
Thank you! I’m happy to hear you enjoyed it and it was helpful! I normally check doe special requirements on herbs because they can be difficult to get started. You’re welcome!
You’re welcome! Happy to help! I’ve never grown turmeric. I planted ginger (never grown this either lol) in this video. I’d like to try it though. Awww thank you! You do the same!!
Putting sweet potatoes in the dirt has been the best method for me. I couldn't do the other way. After growing ginger for two years, I finally learned that to takes like a year for them to reach maturity. This year I'm going to treat it like a houseplant.
Hi Asia, love "hanging out" with you! Great job on your no smoking - I quit a long while ago after smoking heavily for many years starting at 15 y/o. Cold turkey like you. Just shut my mind off to it. Craving would try to creep back in and I would just say Nope and shut it down. Was the only way to do it for me. And a lot of sugar-free hard candies to keep my mouth busy, lol. It's one of the hardest things and you're doing so great. I didn't know you could start sweet potatoes in the soil like that. I've done them in water before. Thanks for sharing that tip. Hope you have a great weekend! ~Angela
Hi!! Happy to hear you enjoy hanging out! Thank you and congratulations to you! Cold turkey is hard but it’s worth it! Thanks for the sugar-free candy tip! O yea I’ve done it both way and just prefer it this way. You’re welcome! Thanks for watching!
I'm tickled at the thought of just starting but I know it will be fine. I've also decided in April I will be purchasing some starts as well from a local gardening place as reinforcements to go along with the plants that I've started. They're usually reasonably priced. Thanks for all you share 💞
O ok cool! Nothing wrong with starts from the store. I buy them too when I need them! I have to stay out of my local feed and seed because I buy starts I don’t even need lol
I’ve never soaked my peas, but I’m going try because my germination rate is nearly at zero, but I’ve had them since 2020. Anyways, glad the greenhouse held up to the wind. It looks like it’s so nice to lounge in. I’m going to have to setup a sitting space in mine.
Soaking them should help with germination. When you try it let me know if you notice a difference. Thank you! I’m pretty happy as well. It’s a really nice space to relax. O yay! You’ll love it!
The ginger should be scared over and there isn’t a need to transplant. I’ve only grown organic from the grocery store. Just put it in a flower pot about an inch 1/2 under the soil and put it in a sunny spot and keep it watered and let it grow. I started my eggplant, sweet potato slips, more onions and leeks as well as my snow peas too. Put some used coffee grounds in your soil for the peas, that should kick them off pretty good. Happy Gardening!!
Ok thank you for the ginger tips! I personally do not want to grow it in a container because of space limitations. I figured I was supposed to let it scare over 🤦🏾♀️. We will see what happens at this point. Awesome sauce! I’ll give the coffee grinds a look. I added compost to that bed once I put it to sleep. I use lots of coffee grinds when making my compost. Happiest gardening to you as well!
I'm glad you said both methods with the potatoes work because I just did them both today 👍🏾. Great harvest are going to happen in the gardens for all this year🙏🏾👍🏾
I actually bought seed potatoes and sweet potatoes slips from a farm this year. I'm going to grow them along side with ones from the grocery store. I want to see if their is any difference. Also strawberry plants. I'm going to try black beauty eggplant. I've never grown them before. Coffee is my treat. I love coffee and dark beer. I have to enjoy something. 😂
That’s a great idea! Please let me know what you find out. That’s a great test! Good luck on the eggplant. Totally understand lol. I’ll have some every now and then right now while I’m in my early stages of quitting smoking. It’s a trigger for me. Enjoy some for me lol 🤗
Yay for staring the seeds! I like your Wolverine garden gloves! 😂 I started some salad greens on Sunday and I'm already seeing sprouts! 😍 I'm just gonna grow those indoors. I have broccoli, onions and other things that will take a while to grow already started as well. Hopefully, March will be mellow wnough to put them outside during the day. Happy gardening!
Lol I couldn’t find another one that was filthy or full of holes. And I was trying to protect my newly done nails. That’s awesome!! You are on a roll! Nice! I’ll cross my fingers for you I’m hopes that March will be better weather wise! Happy gardening to you!!
Last spring, I tried growing peas, no luck. During fall, I planted some more, they came up but the harvest was poor. The peas also didn't get very long. Going to try again though. Hope you get a good harvest this year.
I’m sorry to hear that. Peas are one of those veggies that if you are in a zone that warms up fast you have to find the right time. I have the most success in spring but still not as good as I’d like. Happy to hear you are trying again though. Good luck and happy growing!
Hi! I am watching this video as I start my seed trays with Dragon Tongue Beans, Pumpkin and Eggplant in Florida 9b. First frost was Dec. 28th and la frost is 2/9. The rutabagas I cut up and cooked with Collards. Soooo delicious. Black beans, more collards, turnips, purple cabbage and sweet peas and snap peas are giving it up. Dill and carrots. Goodness gracious! Loving my backyard garden and Ms. Asia!!! Please correct the spelling of your name it I didn’t get it right! 😊
O yay! I wish our last frost was that early! How fun for you to be starting those type of seeds! Sounds like you still have a lot doing going from fall! That’s amazing! Glad you love your garden! Is my name spelled wrong somewhere? I may have been typing too fast lol!
I love your videos!! You are so authentic. Your content always gives good information and shows us something/physical gardening-not just talking about it… I’m here to watch you garden and share information and you never disappoint. ❤I don’t like channels that just talk about gardening- then ask people to comment below if they want to see the actual physical gardening-that’s what we’re here for…lol. 💚😊 I do really like the life vlogs as well- behind the scenes with the gardener🤣. Thank you for sharing with us. As soon as I see a video from you pop up.. I’m watching it right away because I know it’s going to be great!! 🥰 BTW, within the last three days, I’ve planted scallions, shallots, eggplant seeds, pepper seeds, marigold seeds, & tomato seeds inside under grow lights. I’m in South Korea, zone 7a and our last frost is predicted for March 20th timeframe. I plan to start my brassicas soon as well. I have to try the heat lamp. What a great idea!! @happyheart_garden is my IG. I follow you there as well.😊 Happy Gardening!!!!👩🏾🌾
Awww thank you! I appreciate all your kind words! I’m happy to know you enjoy the content and that it is helpful. O wow! You have planted a lot already! That’s awesome! I’m glad you have gotten off to a good start! I’ll come visit you over on IG! Happy Growing!!
@@YellowDoorUrbanHomestead You’re welcome and thank you. I’m trying to get a lot in quick this year since I’m moving from South Korea back to the US this summer. I don’t want to lose any time. I’m just really enjoying my hands in the dirt even though I know I won’t get the full extent of my harvest. I’ll be thankful for whatever I get. The experience is worth it.☺️💚
Looking fantastic! I love that you just popped into your greenhouse to start your day. Congratulations on surviving those winds! 🌬️ I’m in GA now, also in 7b and I throw my sweet potatoes right on the ground. The leaves grow like ivy 😹😹😹. I can’t get peas to grow - i think i start them too late and it’s too hot for them. Looking forward to putting them in my backyard shade this year. Wonderful update and good luck with the eggplants!
Thank you! I’m enjoying the greenhouse so much. I’m very excited that it seems to weathering the winds so far Lol I can believe that. The vines were all over the place last year. Do you also get new sweet potatoes or do you only do it for the leaves? Ahhh yes someone else in GA said they don’t have luck with peas. Good luck this year growing them in shade. I grow my best peas in spring. It’s still has never been more than enough to snack on thought lol. Thank you! Happy growing to you!
@@YellowDoorUrbanHomestead thank you for the well wishes. I grow the sweet potatoes for the potatoes and I’m sure i still have some in the ground. They love to hide in this red clay 😹😹. The leaves are an extra bonus. Lovely for pressing for crafts too! Happy growing!
I find your videos very informative. I tried growing ginger last year but it didn't do so well. I live in Maryland 7a. I'm trying different herbs and vegetables. I also bought the marshmallow seeds excited to see what happens this year.
Thank you Felicita! I’m happy to hear that. I’ve never tried to grow it. This my first time. Are you trying again this year? It’s always nice to try new things. I’m so excited too about the marshmallow! Good luck and happy gardening!
I'm trying the tomatoes you mentioned in one of your other videos and my peppers which I do well with. I'm also growing some flowers and comfrey. I have my fingers crossed 🤞
I saw Butcher paper for quail beds. They are the perfect size for the poop trays and bins. Just slide it out and slide in a new sheet. If I keep quail inside. 😊
First of all, that nail color is popping lol but yes, notnsure was freeze stratification. I will look that up and love you saying the part u just buy from the store, and it's not organic , did grow black eye peas for the first time.
Lol thank you! Okie dokie! Seeds that need stratification are great for winter sowing. Yeah I’ve found that in most and many cases they grow just fine. O yay! Did you grow them from store purchased beans?

Hi Asia! Keep us updated on the Magicmind. I may need double doses a day dealing with my adult daughter 😄Lawd help me! Anywho 😄 I was so chill as you were chillin' in your new greenhouse 😄. I need to purchase more soil so I can plant my store bought potatoes and sweet potatoes. They been in a brown paper bag for at least 4 months. And congrats on still not smoking. And no coffee? I do understand why. Thanks for sharing!😊
Hi Elwanda! I will! Once I am almost done with my first pack I’ll do a quick up on another video. Awww no…hopefully she’ll give you a break soon! I am so loving that little spot to hang out! O yeah it’s probably close to time for you to plant the good stuff out in California, right? Thank you! I’m going strong. I’ve drastically cut back. Initially I wasn’t drinking it at all. It can be a real trigger for me. You’re welcome! Thanks for watching!
I am curious about growing ginger myself. I believe Epic Gardening has a video on how to grow ginger in containters that's like one of his most viewed on the channel. So if he doesn't have an answer, the comment section for sure has some good advice!
@@YellowDoorUrbanHomestead Yes I’ve been binge watching your videos and finally found it.. Keep making more vids Please.. God Bless You & Your Family Ms. Asia
