That's the mark of a great dad, taking extra time to show your kids how to do things that you could do faster by yourself. Instead of sweet potatoes you might have better luck with a true yam.

I've always called that material "Weld Wire Fencing", or "Wire Cloth Fencing", which is the same thing but with much smaller approx. 1/2" square spacing, while "Chicken Wire" is the classic, thin wire, hexagonal pattern, but I'm sure there are many names from all over. Getting the kids into gardening at a young age is wonderful! They love eating veggies they got to grow themselves. Cheers!

It would be nice to hear about your childhood experiences growing up around people who sounded like you. Also, how do you feel when you hear other southerners say that Florida ain’t the south? I don’t know if you’ve experienced that but for me I get a little offended. At the same time I can’t blame them. Most of the people in Florida are transplants from other states. I suspect the southern accent is on a decline throughout the south but it’s almost extinct in Florida.
Florida’s southern accent is being preserved in the white and black communities whose families have been here for generations. I’m hoping to bring some attention to this topic and hopefully preserve some of our culture. Do you have an instagram account?
