We join Jamie at Birch House Fishery on Lake One to take a look how he goes about putting together big weights of Skimmers and Bream on a commercial venue as the weather starts to improve. Fishing with expanders and pellets rather than the more traditional groundbait approaches you might expect.

I’ve been fishing recently with micro pellets and different dyes and flavourings in general. I’ve had a lot of bites and caught some decent fish but I would like your opinion on whether you think this actually attracts and catches more fish? Would it be a good suggestion if you could do a video on one of you fishing with dyes and flavourings and the other fishing normal pellets etc… but the same method of fishing to see the outcome? Just an idea. Thankyou

Probably go down the more natural route of groundbait, maggots, chopped worm etc.

Just whatever you normally use for silvers, when it’s as good as that no need to go mega light. 0.10-0.12 hooklength. 0.16 mainline.

Questions to you Andy what you would do on river when running that clear on winter. Are you will think to use just maggots or you use bread punch where you know there is not much small chubs about.
