Very true. But the hair and bling are so good too! those metallic punks and pearl ankle bracelets are stunningly fitting. and the simple hair styles make the clothing that much more elegant.
I know I'm probably beating a dead horse, but I really wish Karl would leave Kendall, Gigi, and Bella out of Chanel couture shows. I enjoy the mystery of the unknown models and how they can convey multiple different lifestyles through the clothes they walk in. When I see Chanel and it's models, I think of mysterious, wealthy, private, aristocracy. When I see Kendall, Gigi, and/or Bella, I think socialite, known, public, used, cheap.
Sylla Atlas It isn't about her looks--because she is gorgeous--it's about who she is--a reality star and an instagram star. Nothing captivating about that. I feel that models for designers such as Chanel have to be blank canvases--storytellers. People who do not literally broadcast their entire lives. When I see these Chanel shows, I find myself looking at each model and thinking, "Is she a princess? A noble? A talent?" Of course they are just models, but they can portray royalty or some status of class when wearing Chanel. Whereas Kendall, Gigi, and Bella are not blank canvases at all. You know exactly who they are, and cannot picture them or their lifestyles as anything but cultureless, California selfie takers, due to that being the stigma of their very being. Even though Lily Rose is the daughter of a celebrity, that celebrity is a world renowned talent. She is even fluent in French and lives in France. She exudes talent, culture, and mystery.
Demetrius I don't go this far, I just enjoy presence and beauty, if she is, then I'm happy. Because when I watch a fashion show I try to figure out who the person is the designer wants to show us. I don't see Kendall. I see a gorgeous model who was chosen by the designer to represent the woman of the show, presented by all the models. And I want to know who she is supposed to be, not who she is.
hellcat19832 It may seem boring the collection but it is the Chanel essence. Coco Chanel said she wanted a Haute Couture where women would not feel disguised. It is very different from other Haute Couture houses like Schiaparelli who liked innovation and the avant-garde.
I loved it when the last model came out and smiled as if to say, "I love being in this dress!" Most models look as if they're in misery having to wear the designer's creations. And yes, I thought the collection was beautiful!
Paula Johnson I don't think she is a plane jane. I find her beautiful just like her mother. And yes ofc being the daughter of two big celebrities opened a lot of doors for her and obvioustly she didn't walk away from these amazing opportunities. Who would?

12:10 is simply stunning. The light sheer chiffon covered in those beautiful feathers, it's almost as if they are just attached to her. The movement of the skirt is so elegant, it's just such a beautiful piece/pieces. This is couture at it's finest, and one of the most beautiful Chanel collections that Karl ever did in my opinion.
to be honest when i first saw bella hadid she was stunning (i didnt know it was her) she passed like real model. then when i see kendall well its her and you know it. no big impression whatsoever

Beautiful, this is the Chanel I love, beautiful clothes, impressive set, cohesive, tasteful, conceptual, desirable and great music, but I've heard the first song before, can't remember which show.
I loved everything about this show. Karl totally reworked the Chanel suit toward a much more modern take. The gowns were splendid in their simplicity and chic. Loved the models, loved the hair, it was so subtle that if you were tired you would miss the staggering newness in everything. Bravo, Karl without any flash this was magic!
The glass-like floor seems very slippery and loosely tiled; thats why the girls are having such a hard time walking beautifully like they always do. Then again, this is a splendid job from the most marvellous couture house in the world.
Ce défilé est un pure chef-d'oeuvre ! Je suis époustouflée devant le travail remarquable des créateurs/stylistes, c'est vraiment une collection à tomber par terre ! On voit toute la beauté et le temps de travail que cela a pu représenté. J'adore la manière dont les vêtements sont dessinés, c'est vraiment exceptionnel ! On a tout d'abord des tailleur qui mettent vraiment la femme en valeur ; parfois sobre, parfois coloré, mais toujours très chic. Puis l'on remarque des tenues de soirée tellement sophistiquées : des paillettes, des plumes,... Une pure merveille !

Nothing will ever top Galliano for Dior, unfortunately those days are over. This collection is absolutely stunning though, definitely the best Chanel collection of the century, and will probably remain so now that Karl is dead 😥

The work of the seamstresses in these dresses are magnificent! The outfits were so aesthetically pleasing and enthralling, what an amazing collection! I especially LOVED the 50's inspired dresses, they were stunning! So many Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn vibes! Karl really is a genius!
