Finally starting to dry up enough to get going in the field. Nice having a big horse like the 4430 to get caught up for planting time. Doing a great job.
Dry enough at home but the other farm is still too wet. Maybe latter in the week. I tried Saturday but no go! The 4430 is a good old tractor. Thanks for stopping by!!!
Been out there all morning working land so I can get started planting my beans came in for lunch and watched your video sure did enjoy the ride in your tractor looks like you got twist chisels on that plow.🍽☕🙂
Yes Sir. They are twist chisels. Don't know if that's good or bad but they were on the plow when I bought it. Hope all is going good with you and you get your beans in the ground soon. Still wet in most places here. Thanks for stopping by!!
@@stinsonfarms6724 twist chisels are really good because of the way they roll the soil I would have them on my chisel plow but I can't find them thick enough or solid enough to stand the pressure from the depth I want to run at. With the points that are on my plow, they are solid and substantial enough to run deep enough to actually break hardpan. Breaking that hardpan we created with our disk is essential to making it through a dry year. I'm enjoying your story at your Channel and I am looking forward to seeing you use that grain drill to plant some beans🙂
Man yeahr Bill, time to move some soil!! Enjoyed that alot!! Still a.lomg row to go myself, but closer everyday! Can't wait to see you working land at the farm soon too! Hope the weather works out for ya!! Ole JD seemed to do really well, after the repairs and without the duals! Thank you my friend for bringing us along!! This season is gonna be one for the record books, can't wait to follow along!! Have a great day my friend!! 👍😁
I tried the ground out at the farm Saturday. Still way too wet!! It was nice to have the air working again. Gets hot in that cab!! Old tractor seems to be up for the job. It's 48 years old so I guess anything could happen at any time. Lol I hope this season is good for everyone. With the high cost of fuel, seed and fertilizer, I hope the grain prices stay up.Thanks for being here watching!!
Thanks!! I know it's not much in the RU-vid world but I never thought I'd have this many subscribers. It's been fun and made a lot of friends. Thanks for the support!!
Your 4430 is running good. I like how you can see the rear tires wrinkle up from pulling hard. I've never run a chisel. Not a common practice in the hills around here. More of a bottom ground thing.
Our soil around here is heavy with clay. So it will become compacted really easy if it's not worked up every year or so. At least that's my opinion. It will also pull the tractor hard when working it. That's why you'll see Tractors pulling smaller plows than would you could pull in other parts of the country. Again my opinion. But the 10 shank chisel plow loads the old 4430 pretty good. Thanks for watching!!
I was running in A-4 some and B-1 some. When I have the duals on and get better traction I will run in B-1 or B-2 depending on how hard the ground is. Thanks for watching!!
