I totally love the longer videos especially for a long walk, doing chores around the house and ESPECIALLY to knit to. I also love shorter videos like pattern round ups for a quick watch. I think you have a really good mix of video lengths and formats❤

i think leaving out the purple makes the most sense. the 100g skein is largely very warm colours. it will turn out beautiful whatever you choose though.
Sounds like Knit City was so fun, I'd love to go next year. And for your Stella Quilt planning... I'd leave out one of the pinks (the peach or bubblegum). I know you said you're not drawn to using the leftovers for socks, but I think using the 5th mini with the leftover variegated would be perfect for socks, with the pop of colour at cuffs/heels/toes. Looking forward to seeing the cushion you work up.
You nailed it with those color combos! I feel like I learned a lot listening to your consideration process. And I'm still loving your longer videos, but I realize that I have a flexible schedule that allows me to listen and knit more than other folks might be able to. That said, I love the idea of deep dive on a specific project videos as well. I'm so glad that Knit City met your expectations and that you had a great time. I'm going to the Vermont Sheep and Wool Festival in October and it will be my first knitting event. Im very excited and really want to hone my yarn picking eye before then.
I LOVE the color palette for your dino, but perhaps consider making a trial motif with the pink center, then brass boarder, then brown joining just to test that color order before committing either way
I alternate between long and shorter videos depending on my mood and schedule ;). For the quilt cushion I think you should knit one section in the speckled yarn and then decide on which minis to use with it. Love the podcast!

I think you’re better off leaving out the ochre. The pinks and purples tie in so perfectly with the single skein and it will make the main colour pop more!
I think 30-45 minutes is a sweet spot for me, because I knit along with the videos and that's about how long I can go before my joints need me to take a break. But I enjoy shorter and longer videos, too!
Pausing the video to say...I like all lengths of videos, but maybe 45-60min is my favourite. You do you, boo! 😊 If I dont have time for a longer video, I watch it in two sittings. All that said...when you have an FO, a specific video about it would be interesting 🤔

I'd love to go to a big knitting market one day, although we don't really have huge ones here in Australia. Sadly I missed a small one The Knitters Picnic in Dungog, rural NSW, last weekend. I really wanted to go but was all socialised out from dinner, drinks and seeing The Middle East, Aldrous Harding, and Explosions in the Sky play at The Sydney Opera House! It was my first time seeing anything at the Opera House and Explosions were truly incredible! 🙌🙌🙌 Anyways all that to say, that I understand the social draining and excitement that comes from big exciting events, and I'm glad you had such a good time and met so many lovely people. 😊 I've been watching your videos the last few months and really enjoying them, any length of video is great 👍 One thing I've noticed lately with knitting podcasts in general is that when pictures are put up on the screen of projects or wool or whatever it is, it doesn't stay up for as long as I'd like, to fully appreciate the item. I reckon if you're still talking about that item, keep it on the screen 😊 Thanks again for all your hard work creating content for us to enjoy 🩷✨
Was nice to see you at knit city! Personally, I prefer the long form content, but it would make sense that those who don't would be the ones vocal about it, compared to viewers who are happy with the current lengths.
For the Stella cushion: As soon as you said you’d be leaving out a mini-skein I assumed it would be the lavender :0) But before that I assumed you’d be using the large skein for the background (instead of white) and the mini-skeins for the pattern. Funny how differently we can all see things :) I bet it’ll be beautiful no matter what you decide to do!
For the cushion, I would drop the bubblegum pink. I'm in love with all the colorways you picked up at knit city. I can't wait to attend in Montreal next year!!

I usually enjoy 30-40 minute videos but would not like just one project being featured. I like seeing FO’s, WIP, and new designs that have caught your eye. I do like your themed pattern roundups as well. Glad you had so much fun.
I was definitely someone craving more content and therefore longer videos when I was working remotely but now that I am back in person it’s hard to find the time to watch all of my favourite creators. Although I will love to watch whatever you put out.❤ Also I would definitely leave out the bubblegum pink. With all 3 pinks it’s all pink and the ochre will stick out, but it definitely needs to stay in. And in this vid the bubblegum looks similar to the purple as well. It seems that leaving out the bubblegum gives the most contrast in the best way.
I would leave out the bubblegum. I think the Stella quilt cushion looks best with high contrast colors, so you’d really only need one of the light pinks
I would leave out the peach in the cushion bc there seems to be a lot of peach tones in the variegated yarn, so you wouldn’t miss out on peach and you’d have more variety of color. Or I’d leave out the purple for a warmer palette.
It was lovely to meet and chat with you at KCT Emily!! And you got a great haul! I always find your videos well paced and focused so the length generally doesn’t matter to me in case you wanted one more opinion 😊
For the Stella quilt cushion I LOVE the combination without the purple mini skein. Obviously with those colors you can't go wrong whatever you do, but I think leaving the purple out will give the most cohesive look :)
Try taking a black and white photo of your minis with your speckled yarn to see how the values compare- at least I like to do that when deciding on color work.
Thank you for this tip!! I find when it comes to speckled yarns, I sometimes just need to see them knit up…the skeins can look gorgeous together but also get muddled when too close together knitted up 🤔
For the Stella Quilt Cushion you could pick one of the mini skeins that goes very well with the speckled yarn to leave out so you can make something else (socks?) With the leftover speckled and the mini you leave out.
For the Stella quilt cushion you COULD use the 5th mini color and some of the full skein to make a few complementary diagonal stripes on the back of the cushion.
Those yarns are so beautiful, I would love a Stella quilt Cushion in those exact yarns but if I had to chose, I would eliminate the peachy one and let the rest of them shine ! and also, I love a longer video, but some shorter more focused ones sound nice too !
Loved meeting you, you were just as warm in person as you seem online! I thought the room was uncomfortably hot, next time would arrive even earlier to avoid the crowd! 11 am was definitely the busiest!
Interesting thought about seasonal video length! Makes sense how people would prefer shorter videos in the summer. I do love listening to you before work in the mornings. That being said I also love the longer videos to put on while knitting at night.
