Tim, As an obsessed rugby supporter, I would like to add my voice to the chorus congratulating you on your unbiased, enthusiastic reporting of the World Cup. As you eloquently said yesterday, rugby the biggest winner tonight! Fabulous final ! Congratulations South Africa. Heart warming to hear the humility from Siya Kolisi in his post match comments. What a class act!
This goes beyond the RWC..people don’t understand. This epitomizes all of SA back home, we went ballistic, in the streets, fan parks, heart stopping stuff. We are so proud of the Springboks. Cant wait to see them back home.
Has anyone noticed how, since the whistle, Rassie has just stayed in the background & let the others take the accolades, do all the media, etc Even when they collected their medals and raised the cup on the stage ... he was right at the back, almost on his own. I have so much respect for what he's built and how he's built it.
Feel so sorry for our brothers and sisters in New Zealand, your team did you proud. Well done BOKKE BOYJIES, you have done all you can to improve our country. Rugby is not just a sport in South Africa, it unites a nation that are going thru very hard times. Wish all the corruption can be tackled like that in South Africa. Cheers to a better South Africa
#StrongerTogether! Absolutely incredible! Thank you God for gracing our country with a win! Proudly South-African ❤❤ Champions of the World! BOKKE! Dankie Springbokke! Thanks Tim
Sat here in the UK this morning missing my home town of cape town. So proud of our team. Reading your comment reminded me of what we are all about, thank you ❤
Hey Tim, as you wrap up your time at the World Cup, I wanted to say thank you for the amazing content you have given us all. Happy to see your channel grow so much since Jan and I am sure you will continue to grow even further. Thanks to this great Eggchasers community. Love from Mzansi
Tim you've taken over as the prime Rugby channel on RU-vid IMHO! Love your oassion for the game, your Zeitgeist and objective views. Watching Eggchasers these last few weeks made us feel like we were right there with you & the lucky few of our countrymen that made it to Paris. Thank you!
"I'm feeling like I gave birth!" 😂😂😂.... love it!! Well done Boks, and well done Tim for bringing us right into the atmosphere. Love your channel, gonna miss watching your videos in the morning. I'm a casual rugby fan but you're making me into a true believer ❤
Forcing myself to watch wonderful people enjoy their win. They look so happy, it's almost infectious 🙃 Thanks for the brilliant coverage for the past few weeks, Tim
Well done to the Bokke! And credit to the AB's, it's amazing how that red card just galvanised them! Thank you Tim for your lekker coverage of this World cup, please never stop!
Tim, with the ZAR at 20 to the € you must know what sacrifice each SA supporter went through to do this trip!! That's how big worth it Springbok Rugby is to us.
Dear Tim and fellow rugby supporters, As children, we grew up in SA with the understanding and knowledge that New Zeeland’s AB’s is our most feared, but respected foe. For me this belief was initiated in 1970 when, as a 9-year-old, I attended my first AB game. It was Sir Brian Lochore’s team’s game in Potchestroom, as part of the 1970 tour to SA. Over all the years since then, the might and mystique of the AB’s was maintained and elevated in the minds of all Springbok supports, to a point were we believed that the only test in rugby is against the AB’s. SA had a favourable winning record against the AB’s till around the invent of the professional era and since then, the AB’s is the only team with a better win/loose ratio than SA. We witnessed the 1976 tour to SA, the infamous 1981 tour to NZ (flour bombs, glass splinters, nails, riots and a divided NZ society), - we still think we should have won the 3rd test…. There was the 1984 Rebel Tour and then…silence. The South African imagination was heightened in 1992, Ellispark, when the first test, after resubmission, against the AB’s took place. We saw AB heroes in action, but also Bok heroes. It was close, but we again got a taste of real AB power - the myth about the AB’s was carried over to a younger generation to wonder about, to acknowledge and to respect. The 1995 World cup final, and the impact on nation building it had in SA, was spoken about a lot. But it was the image, mystique and reputation of the AB’s that contributed to the feeling of accomplishment in the SA supporters’ hearts. The series win by Sean Fitzpatrick’s team in 1996 reinforced the might and superiority of the AB’s for Springbok supporters. So, to us, Springbok and rugby supporters, the AB’s represent the absolute pinnacle of rugby power, creativity, tenacity and skill, They are the team to be compared to, to be judged against and South Africa’s number one foe to be conquered. The respect for the AB’s is ever lasting, fixed at a level that cannot be measured in points for or against, nor in matches won or loose. It is that something, an awareness, that is in the heart and soul of South African rugby supports. We are glad to have beaten our respected enemy in the 2023 final, but we are equally sad that there must be a looser. It was just right that a final at a World Cup tournament be between the greatest rugby rivals for over 100 years. May it continue for another 100 years! To NZ rugby supporters, we salute you, we honour you, we respect you, but we also thank you. It is you and your beloved AB’s that created rugby legends and immortal rugby characters both in South Africa and in New Zeeland. We wish you as a rugby nation, as well as the majestic All Blacks, a successful future and that we will continue the hard but respectful rivalry between our two nations, for years to come! Gerhard
Kolesi going over to Kolbe at the end , to have that level of awareness of the anguish Kolbe was going through , just different level. It was definitely a Marathon if not an Iron man challenge. Fantastic coverage I have to say I have been disappointed by coverage of the tournament other than the games themselves. Your channel has covered this well , showed the game as a real community.
Many Congratulations to SA. What a final! Brutal! Credit to NZ for the spirit & the tenacity. Respect to both teams. Tim, your insightful and well-reasoned unbiased views on every match during the World Cup were remarkable. Your ability to share your love for rugby with such enthusiasm is both inspiring and infectious. In a world dominated by negativity, your videos provide a much-needed respite and serve as a sanctuary for rugby enthusiasts like myself. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to learn from you and to feel your passion for the game firsthand. With the Premiership now underway, I am looking forward to the wealth of knowledge that I know your forthcoming videos will deliver. Thank you once again, Tim, for the incredible contributions you make to the rugby community through your channel🙏🏉
Bro what the hell... 1 point again... I'm finished haha Well done bokke!!! Hard luck ABs. Hell of a game. Thanks Tim my brother for all the videos and the spirited and passionate commentary.
Hey Tim, I've been following you since the beginning of the rwc. I just want to say well done for you on the great content and much love from south africa!!
The bits of Afrikaans thrown in here and there will mean nothing to anyone else, but as an Afrikaans speaker it is the best part of the video, very South African natured humour 😂😂😂 we can be clowns sometimes haha
In South Africa we have out surance. They have a thier Ads which ends with the line that says, swich and save. So in the case of john Kleyn we say, Swich and Win.😂😂😂 From Ireland to South Africa. You are a world cup champion now. 😅😅😅
The South African who follows you and asked if you were semi-delighted... His gently knowing smile of one rugby fan to another... God I love my countrymen... 🇿🇦
Hey Tim Love you for your passion for the game!!! It's a pleasure to watch your videos - i look so forward to your videos as they are open and honest and so refreshing compared to mainstream. I've enjoyed everyone of your videos over this WC!!! I'm a proud South African and today I'm even prouder!!! My nerves might be shot - my hair might be greyer and my heart took strain - but man it was so worth it!!!! Please come visit our wonderful country one day - you will be so welcome and I have no doubt you will love your stay!! Travel safe and God Bless!!
5: 48 That guy said it. Yellow card? Yes....Red? Hell no! We respect the hell out of the Kiwis. There are never any grudges. Just respect. Honestly, we feel a bit sorry for them too. Thank you for meeting us in the final and again pushing us to the limits of our capability.
"We gave birth !!!" - the best line of the tournament. Also….why win by more than 1 point ?😅!?!? Absolutely agreed - winning by more than what is necessary is just plain showing off 😅😅😅
Thanks again, Tim. Love your channel. I'll say it again, you and fellow youtubers are so much better than the official pundits. Sorry to the youtubers to whom I have not subscribed, there are so many for whom I have respect and watch from time to time, but one has to limit yourself. Keep it up.
Sooooo many hangovers today ... going to be a very unproductive work week / month ahead. Next discussion Saffa's ... who takes over as Bok coach? Surely it has to be someone from within the existing system and culture ... now wouldn't be the time to bring in anyone from outside the camp & start with a fresh slate. This snowball must keep rolling.
@@Gerhard2770 He doesn't have the credentials. He can join the coaching team, but he needs to be small fish in a big pond and build his way in coaching if that's going to be his path.
As a Springbok supporter in the US, I have loved your reporting from this World Cup. I can only echo what everyone else is saying: your enthusiasm and spirit is infectious, and when I watched your videos after the game I felt like I was there. Please keep it up!
Oh this country of ours! we get drunk even when we are far from home and that's consistency . Congrats to our bokkeee, to say we love yo u would be an understatement.❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
Congrats to the boks well played , shattered but proud of our ABS back here in New Zealand , as for u Tim thank u brutha for your great content during the cup it was one of the best shows online keep up the good work all the best 💯💪🇬🇸🔥
As a bok fan,I'd rather play the ABs hundreds of times, than the English whingers, just once.(just check the bbc comments section, post match)..I love the way you play rugby....and respect, respect and respect.😊
My hat is off to Jaques. When the captain of SA has the most honest and deep things to day about his coach then we need to listen. Jaques you one of the reasons we are here today i have deep respect for you and the boys
Its almost unreal. Its not seen in sport often these days. Its not a tactic. Its from the heart. Allowing families to join in the hotel. The love and respect between them. To the politicians in South Africa. We know that unity is your worst enemy. But look inside your hearts. Look at the example these men has provided us.
AB's lost due missed kicks and kicks they opted not to take.....ref had nothing to do with it....AB'S were fantastic.....boks were fatigued for sure but they dug deep. Feel for Sam.....but the coach blaming officials not justified. Sam has a history of yellow cards....coaches shud rather spend time on his discipline and technique and less time bashing referees....
Beautiful shot of the Rainbow Nation fans belting out their beautiful multilingual anthem a capella. Absolutely brilliant video. I wish I knew how to capture those two snippets, stitch them together, edit the video and post it. Brilliant!
Congrats on your well earned 4th WC title and back to back WCs SA. Huge respect for the BOKKE QF, SF, F all won by 1pt! They just refused to lose the games that mattered and found a way to win every game they needed to win the WC. That's what champions do. Also IMO after today there is no question Siya Kolisi is the finest captain in the history of rugby union. When was appointed captain in early 2018 the BOKKE were arguably at the lowest point in their history and now they are arguably at the highest point in their history. He's also an absolute class individual all the time win or lose. Huge respect to everyone involved at the Boks organization since 2018 what they achieved is incredible and it insane amounts of hard work from everyone involved. Again congrats and huge respect from a Wales supporter.
What a game. I feel that the All Blacks lost the game rather then South Africa won it. I would say that the Shannon Firzell taking out Bongi Mbonambi was a intentional master stroke to even up the scrum and made the Boks Line out a mess. The Springboks dig deep and they won it ...
@@benkay1390how much humility do you expect he literally says he thinks NZ lost it and boks didn't win it which I heavily disagree with. Better team won end of story.
Ag asseblief!! We have had weeks of snivelling conspiracy theories from the French and English fans. Let's not get down into that gutter with them. Have some self respect.
We can never appreciate you enough Tim…we really feel like we were also in France and part of the journey…I’m glad I ran into your channel on the ABs and SA warm up and you’ve been our rugby guide ever since ❤❤Thank you
A fabulous rugby tournament made all the better by your awesome commentary. It’s been fun and congrats to all teams who participated, France for hosting and the Boks triumph. Looking forward to the autumn games already. 🇮🇪
Congratulations SA, one of the best 80min defensive efforts in a world cup. To the AB's, 2nd is still a great achievement in a world cup, rules are rules and the players know it. Tbh and fair to SA, the AB's had chances to win but, they were obviously NOT good enough on the day...
Best comment of the year, I cannot take this shit for one more week. I think this dude just summed it up - oh my gosh. Love it. Well done to every team who played!! But eish us Souf! Africans ne LMAO
😂😅😂 South Africans at their best. 🇿🇦👌 You just got to love our nation. Happy people who dont let the small things bother us. ❤ Nomatter where we are in the world we enjoy ourselves to the fullest. 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦 Well done ABs
What a way to wrap up your World Cup coverage. Thanks for all your hard work over the last few weeks Tim. When I look back on this tournament over the years it will be with these videos in mind. What an amazing few weeks of rugby.
TMO you gotta go.pathetic.slows down game and makes wrong decisions. Go back to old days where ref decides not some nerd whose probably never played rugby in his life!
Don't forget that Wayne Barnes called out twice, not a knock on. Based on the fact that we expect the refs to sometines let play flow. Yes a number of people, myself included are saying that we have problem with the the way the reffing has been happening, with TMO and the bunker. This is to focus on reffing going forward. But we get called bad losers. But we , at least I am not saying that the result should have changed, as everything woukd change going forward abd who knows what woukd happen. The worst one still the the Frizell process. Ref and TMO called foul play based on the player targeting a players leg. Therefore a penalty and a yellow, and a request to consider an upgrade to red which trageting a leg should get. But the big issue is targeting a leg should be red, targeting by is nature is deliberate. The bunker came back and said not a red, he wasn't targeting the leg he just fell on it while attempting a clear out. So people fall on others body parts all the time in rucks in rugby. It is only a deliberate nature that is the foul play. Note doesnt matter what various punters think, this was a case of the bunker, in words reversing the words the ref used in issuing the penalty and the yellow. Then rge ref had to tell the captains on live tv, he dudnt target the players leg he just fell on it in the clear out. But the yellow still stands. A smart captain would have asked, what was the yellow for then. Well er um targeting the players leg?? Ok clearly the bunker and I disagree?? So this is another failure in the reffing process. Because according to the bunker that yellow was given for something that was not foul play and was normal for rucks and should not have been penalised. The logical conclusion would have been to apply the same ruling as the knock on in scoring the try. Disallow all the points associated with the yellow, just like rhey disallowed tge points from the knock on. Becayse those points were awarded and then taken off. So we do have to talk about these things, it doesnt change the result, but we don't want stupid things happening forever more. The sport management need to be under review as well. Every rule change should be open to review and feed back taken on board. Doesn't mean things will change but the process can be reconsidered move forward as is or leave alone. We accept the result as refing is part if the game, still we think the reffing process has some work.
