I picked up my Hellcat Pro about 2 months ago. Added a Crimson Trace red dot (no modifications or plates) and installed the Apex trigger. Still breaking her in with under 300 rounds, but it has been rock solid so far. Great video all around.
Yessiiiiir!!! Gotta love that direct mount when you can get it! I might look at getting mine Apexed next year. I kind of like where it's at right now. However, keep posted on how she runs once you've added more rounds through it. Thanks for watching and leaving your feedback. Happy shootin' 🤙🏾
I have the regular Hellcat with a PA 1x25 compact RDS. I LOVE IT! I ALSO have a PPS M2 with a Shield RMSc. Love it as well! But as you said, single stack.
Awesome pick up my man! I'm now tempted to get my ported, even though I typically don't tinker with my EDCs. Only time will tell. Be well and thanks for watching!
Your content is amazing but your editing skills are outta here! So good I forgot I was taking in gun content on the Hellcat Pro! I literally had to start the video over twice as I was taking notes! Keep going!
🤣 you had me laughing when I read this. Thanks a lot my man. It took me multiple days of suffering to pull this off, so comments like these make it worthwhile. I appreciate that!
@@Citizen2ACitizenLLC 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 my man. You probably know 10x what I know about guns maaaan. I've seen your stuff 😁. And by the way, feel free to reach out if you need any tips on the video side of things. I'll be happy to help.
Excellent video as always. I want to add to the conversation about the recoil buss. Yes they are too tall and I’ve had people comment about filling them down just enough for the Holosun to fit flush. My issue there is the diameter of them is nowhere near large enough compared to the holes in the optic. That means they won’t give the stability under recoil they are supposed to give. Adding a plate is the only way to go. People cry about plates and how they create failure points and co witness. I don’t think any of that matters compared to using a good optic and it being stable
Thanks a lot Mike. You're right about the diameter of those posts. However, for whatever reason, mine seemed a bit too far apart for the sockets to even cover the tip of those posts. Couldn't tell if the sockets were out of spec or not. I failed my CNC certs lol. I've seen videos of people filling those front posts down. Thought about it, but didn't want to risk it with my friend's unsteady hands 🤣. I must admit that I never had issues with plates before, until I had to work for them. FN and S&W will just give them all to you at no extra charge, which is great. But now companies like Walther will have you request one, and wait for it to arrive whenever it does. The other issue I've run into is finding the right screws depending on the optic and plate you use. For instance, when I mounted the Gowutar (RMR footprint) on my friend's M&P, I had to go through 3 different types of screws to find one with the most threads of engagement. The recommended screws were too short. I'm talking 2 to 3 threads going in the slide, at most. While, S&W offers one of the deepest holes I've seen so far. Believe it or not, I had to do the same thing with my 509. On the comped slide, I'm running a 507C with screws recommended for one of the Vortex optics (Razor or Venom) just to get more threads of engagement in the slide. Don't ask me how I know. Let's just say, I never thought I'd spend $15 on a single screw. That still hunts me to this day lol. And rumor has it, that recommended RMR screw is still laying on the ground somewhere, in a range far, far away...
New Subscriber here.. I love my Hellcat Pro.. I threw a TP Threaded barrel on it with a Comp and gas pedal and OMG .. For me the Pro wasn't snappy and it has ran flawlessly.. Grab a Gas Pedal in place of your take down lever and you will see the difference..
I just put my hell cat pro on layaway today.I don’t care for the p365x which I gave to my son.I prefer a pistol I can get a full purchase on.Currently I’m carrying a Glock 19 gen 5 til I get my Hellcat pro.
Thanks for watching and leaving your thoughts. Yes, short grips annoy me during reloads. I learned the hard way, but I'm glad I learned anyway. I used to carry my P10C during cold months. Now this thing never leaves my belt all year round. Be well, and happy shootin'.
I just bought the stainless slide version today, but have to wait for 3 weeks before I can even do the paperwork because of the 1 gun in 30 days rule, and then have to watch for 10 days after that to pick it up. I hate CA. You’re absolutely right about the ergonomics on the HCP. There’s just something about it that makes it fit into my hands extremely well. Unfortunately, here in Commiefornia, the Hellcat Pro Comp is not on the handgun roster, yet, but the Pro is. I’ll be adding it to my CCW in due time.
@@omk316 You should. Please don’t let it scare you away from applying. Since the Bruen SCOTUS decision, everyone who’s able to and wants to defend themselves should do so.
Niiice! I don't know why but my mind always goes back to Bad Boys 1 when I see a silver slide on a black frame. Marcus had a two-tone Sig (I believe) that just stuck with me through the years. In fact, lots of guns in that movie had silver slides and black frames. Ah the good ol days. Anyway, you're almost there my man. 10 more days and you'll be gtg. Rooting for ya!
In order remove the screws with blue locktite , best use heat gun it will help melt the locktite . Thanks for uploading the videos and ur efforts and times. Lookin forward to see more of it take care
Great review. My son bought one a couple weeks ago. His first. Waiting on the holster and optic to come. Can't wait to go to the range with him. Subbed.
Thanks for watching, leaving your feedback, and the sub! I'm glad you found this video helpful in some ways! I'll try my best and see where this leads! Take care!
The U notch which I first thought I'd like, is taking more getting used to than expected because so used to Glock sloping grip angle. But everything else about the gun is excellent and that's why I'll soon mount a red dot.
Thanks for watching and leaving your thoughts. I haven't had a chance to test out the Apex trigger yet but a good friend of mine that I trust has them on all his Hellcat Pros and swears by them. Take care and happy shootin'!
The fact is I love my hellcat pro. The only thing I don't like they went out and fixed. I now have 3 17 round magazine for my hellcat pro. I have somewhat big hands they fixed my problem.
Thanks for watching and good catch on your part. I get something like a lower 1/8th if that's even a thing, with the DPP plate. It's just low enough to let you see about 1.5 to 2 mm over the 507K's deck height. You'll be better off with an EPS, to be honest, should you opt to use that plate. Hope this answers your question. Be well!
I have the same setup except mine is the green dot. Love the gun and how it shoots. But don’t like how the holosun is not co- witnessed with sights now because of plate. Green dot shoots great but would like to have it co- witnessed.
That's awesome man. Night Fision has some sights that will give you that co-witness with the dot and plate combo. I'm going to look into that myself, if I don't get an EPS Carry in the near future
I just installed a Vortex Defender CCW Monday and took it shooting. %100 reliable but too used to slanted Glock grip angle and Pro's trigger a bit stiff unlike my Taurus GX4. Maybe my sloppy performance mostly from being out of shape after walking out there.
Thanks for watching and leaving your feedback. How do you like that Vortex optic? The Hellcat Pro's trigger is a bit sticky at first until it gets broken in. Even then, it's still going to be slightly heavier than most in its class, but I like that it's consistent.
😂😂😂 Do not trust the Sig with 1 in the chamber, I like the Hellcat Pro aesthetically and the grip looks great. I’ve gotta try this out at the range soon
Right on! Give it a shot (no pun intended). Speaking of Sig, I just watched a video posted by PolenarTactical on IG where another officer's P320 went off by itself 4 days ago. They caught it in 4K this time 🤣. Well, not really, but you can clearly see that all it took was just a bump on the holster for it to go off. The bullet ricochetted rearward and missed another officer by a few inches. Scary stuff.
@@parunbelhomme Yes, the entire police force just went to Glock, and dropped the Sig P320 for every single officer. The P320 has very little take-up, no safety dingus. I remember years ago I bought the Walther PPQ, and was really disappointed in the very long take-up, which was longer than my stock Glock gen 3. Maybe that is good for a carry gun, but I didn’t care for the Walther long take-up, preferred Sig short take-up.
@@gracedagostino5231 I had a similar comment that disappeared. Anywho, agreed. When I first started shooting with my ex we would rent the M17 320 as our benchmark against other handguns we were interested in. After long talks after a few months we concluded that the 320 was not going to make a home with us since it had a 'hair' trigger that we both felt was too easy to engage unknowingly even under stress of firing actively. Weird how our first impressions are now turning into this fiasco (we didn't even know about the talk online on the 320 until like a year later)
Yeah it's a bit squishy but not in places where it counts for the most part. The slide release presses in a little from the flex when the magazine is out I've noticed. That would be my biggest con with the squish. The other I noticed was how easily the front rail flexes. I haven't found it to be an issue though an ran it at the range with a tlr-7x just fine.
Thanks for watching and leaving your thoughts. I did notice the rail flex as well, but didn't think it'll be easily noticeable as the grip. I've ordered a new light bearing holster to carry it with my TLR7a but I can't find the adapter keys that came with it. 🤦🏾♂️
@parunbelhomme If you find them there's two keys that work. Can't remember which ones at the moment but one sits it up against the trigger guard and the other a smidge forward. I prefer the more forward one so I'm not catching my finger on the button trying to get to the trigger and that's using the low profile button. Glad to have that option.
Good video.... Was on the fence about getting the Hellcat Pro or the Hellcat (CA Compliant) Think I'm going to "pull the trigger" and purchase it. Thanks! #Subcribed
Dump that walther pps and purchase a Smith & Wesson M&P Shield Plus micro. I shot the regular version and it’s incredibly accurate and easy on recoil. I can’t imagine the feeling of the plus… can’t go wrong.
That Shield Plus shoots like a bigger gun and is impressively accurate for such a short barrel. A friend of mine owns one and it always puts a smile on my face when I shoot it. It's like my brain can't link the small form factor and it's shootability for lack of a better term. Solid pick up. I just wish it had a full grip without the mag inserted.
@@parunbelhomme It's not as bad in person, I picked one up on Saturday and moved in 507k from my 43x over to the HC Pro and I think I like the hellcat better.
@@parunbelhomme because its dimensions are too big. I know theres no consensus in the gun world but to me these “macros” and “pros” have moved out of micro and into subcompact.
I mean I get it. The semantics in the 2A community is its own community. But if we elect to call these "micros" subcompact, what should we do with the subcompact then? Look, if it was up to me, I'd call all "micros" "slimcompact" but what do I know?! 🤷🏾♂️
