I wish there was some way i could thank ol Greg for what hes taught me about jig fishing and punching ....got off of work this morning and ran to the lake for a quick fish, found some duck weed mats and tied on a 1/2oz hack attack flipping jig , a little light for the application , had to jiggle it alot to get it through the mat but within the 1st 30 minutes i caught an absolute sho nuff giant bass...11lbs!!!! she didnt put up much of a fight but oh my lord did i lose my mind when i lipped her and sat her in my lap in my kayak. And thats no "fishing story" brother! gonna post the video of her and of me releasing her . I'll leave a link in these comments when i post. Thanks again Greg for being such an ambassador to the sport I've loved since i could walk!!! I live close to Alexandria and found a color last spring that I made for a swim jig that just hammered them. Make you a black/blue skirt but put about 4 or 5 strands of orange in it real close together and make sure the orange is on the bottom of the bait when you work it. Paired with a green pumpkin kicker craw it was money all day every time I went while they were on the nest. I caught some huge fish in red River on it. Maybe get Strike king to make you some. Works great on the thunder cricket too
