Funny you mention the spice from the Mushroom Ketchup. I made some.. through the squeezings into my dehydrator... then ground them up in a coffee grinder.. They make the best Steak Seasoning.. or Seasoning for any meat.. Wild or domesticated.. I think that was probably the most beneficial video you did. "Mushroom Ketchup". Even some Asian friends I have love it. It's close to a fish souse they can't buy here. They're all wanting the recipe...

You can buy blank altoids tins at the craft or hobby store, as well as tiny glass vials. You can make a kit like that for around 10 bucks if you wanted. Edit: Here. This took me 10 seconds. Glass tubes with metal screw on lids for the spices: www.michaels.com/glass-storage-tubes-with-metal-top-by-bead-landing/10473106.html#q=Glass%20tube&start=2 A metal tin like the one in the video : www.michaels.com/darice-small-rectangular-metal-tin-with-lid-silver/D048191S.html Good luck. It's a cool idea, there is a lot you could do with that idea, make custom spice kits as gifts for a barbecue, or or fill them all up with one spice as a joke for a picky friend.. If you appreciate nettles its good to know that nettles also experience a regrowth of fresh leaves around September-October in addition to the more known spring season. If you don't have a good supply of nettles I would suggest harvesting pieces of nettle rhizomes and then planting in them in your own garden. In 2 years you will have a massive patch of nettles.

About 50-75 % of them get made into a powder for adding to meals all winter long. The rest can be kept in paper bags and reconstituted in hot water and cooked for nice vegetable side dishes.

this is just like what we did when I was a kid. We would go camping and live at the park all summer long and just lived the primitive life the only modern thing we used was the shower that was at the fancy side of the camp grounds.

It is a hair's breadth away from Cooking for Hobo's. :) I love it. So much interesting information in these videos. So many skills we've forgotten.

Your videos are wonderful! My family is from New England, most came over in early 1600s or so. Watching these videos kind of gives me an idea of what some of my ancestors from the 1700's might have made ;)

Wow I live so close to stinging nettles! They are all over the places I go out hiking! And I NEVER would have thought they could be eaten! This was really neat to learn!

They're actually really, really nutritious, and surprisingly high in protein for a plant. That's probably why they sting, because they'd be the preferred food for so many animals if they didn't.
