The silver fleet had a sprint race on a rectangular track with two long reaching legs and short downwind and upwind. Unfortunately, the area was set up in such a way that there was nearly no wind on the start and finish sides but much more on the downwind leg.
I lost foiling thrice. First, right after the start, I was shadowed by the 2732. The second time happened when the GBR 3119 nearly collided with me after a jibe with no priority rights. And the third time, as usual on this day for me, weighing 86 kg, just before the upwind leg where we had less pressure on the course.
And yes, we all have to learn how to do proper reaching starts. ;-) However, it is really tricky in such gusty and unpredictable weather.
