So glad you did this. This is still my favourite van design ever. Seating for 5 and sleeping for 3 with a shower, toilet and stove and still having room for a garage. It's awesome, not to mention the hanging chairs that don't feature in this video - 9 out of 10 in my eyes. If the sink was bigger it would be a 10. (Personally I would have a bigger sink and would use a portable induction hob). Is this CAD package the same one Michelle and Will use?
Thank you so much so close to a 10 ha ha 😊 could easily sleep four if one sleeping across the swivel cab seats on roll out foam stored in garage when not needed. The sink for us was big enough to wash off pots, pans and plates and small enough to stay on top of the washing up and not let it build up in a large sink 😂 I agree about a portable burner as love outdoor cooking and ultimately that’s what Van life is all about, getting outside in nature! Plans are made using sketch up!
I've always wondered if the aisle to bed is in middle of van, the van looks too narrow at usual layout. Because of the toliet and kitchen at both side of van and narrow aisle. I think this layout much more spacious! This layout not only make spaces separate, but also makes room spacious.
super happy that I found it, I remember seeing it a few months ago but cos I forgot to save it into my playlist I couldn’t find it cos I was just hoping around from other videos. I love this design but is it possible to install a max airfan on top of the kitchen & a air conditioner near the bed? also, rather than porthole could I change it to something bigger?
Our plans do not include a roof layout it is just measurements for the internal build so you could make those changes easily enough :) you could put a bigger window instead of porthole but it would go in to the kitchen area too :)
In this video de seats are compatible with the double seat with the single seat!!! I have the crafter 2017+ how I get the swivel seat for the single and de bouble seats? Thank you
im sure this question has been asked before, but ££ what would we be talking for a: you to do a full fit out? and b: to buy the plans and try it myself? it is a great design that i keep coming back to but is it a pipe dream or something i could do??? also unrelated to price, so 5 seats and sleeps 3, i dont have any friends but if i did have enough to need 5 seats is there a way to convert the seats into a double bed?? or if you took out the 2 back seats what would you put in??
Hi there, our vans start at £30k, the van to the exact spec of the video professionally built by us would be in region of £35k. The plans are available on the website if you went that route or happy to welcome you on our waiting list for 2022. There is potential to add another bed upfront for sure.
There is storage under both double travel seats for bedding and clothes, upper cupboards / compartments, lower kitchen cupboard with 3 shelves, storage under the wood burner, storage in the step up to bed, a large garage for storage, a roof deck for storage :) how many times can I say storage 🤣
Thanks but I lived in this van for 6 months full time :) there is a large garage for plenty of storage, maybe watch the full van tour so that you can get a better idea? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6k-x79vXaNo.html There is space under both of the double seats for clothing which is far roomier than having cupboards in the bedroom instead, plus storage under the step up to bed for clothing / blankets etc. There is also a place for additional storage on the roof rack
Hey there, if you go to the listing www.vanlifebuilds.com/store and scroll down there is detailed product information / hints and tips provided there - the actual plans just contain measurements! Hope that helps :)
The benefit of having 5 travels seats out weighted this for us personally :) plus you can always put your feet up like a couch in this area once seats a swivelled. If you took the woodburner out of the design you could perhaps get a low level couch along that wall :)
A very pretty design but totally impractical in the real world. Produced by someone who is great at imagination and cad but has no experience of living in a van.
A design that never made sense!!! 😂😜😆🤪🤣 As in is this even a plan for a van or a bus(t)? Such a waste of space. Such little storage area. And how do you plan to make a swivel 2 seaters & where do you propose the 5 people sleeps? To those who will use this layout...Good luck!!! 🤣🤪😆😜😂
Thanks for your comments, appreciate everyone has an opinion but yours is deffo in the minority here as we’ve had largely positive feedback on our design, plus you have delivered this in a mocking and rather rude way which is not helpful and unkind. Let’s address some of your comments :) Storage: There is a large amount of storage, under both of the double seats, plentiful for bedding and clothes. Under the step up to the bed you’ll also find additional storage for clothes. Storage in the large garage for non essential items that are not needed on a daily basis. Heaps more storage in the single bed cubby (for instances when it only needs to be used occasionally) the van design also has space for a roof box for extra storage on the roof if required! Although we advise all our clients to travel light, the more possessions you have the equals more weight in your van and that is never good! If more storage was still required the over head cab space could be utilised or replace the wood burner for seating with storage underneath! Sleeping 5: You could adapt the design to sleep 5, quite easily. The van was designed for MY needs and I only wanted to travel 5 for friends and family on day trips etc and did not need to sleep 5. Occasionally the front seats were used a single bed, for a 4th person, where I stored foam in my garage to roll out along them! Double swivel: The swivel double bases are available to purchase from r j campers.
