Hell yea Rosenbrook!! I am 32 and about to join the army as a 19D Calvary Scout and Im nervous. I have been practicing my rucks, did 4 miles last night with 40+ pounds in the back pack in 55 minutes. I know I have a long way to go.
If you're part of a Cav unit you dont need to have your spur to have a Stetson. But also with that said, if you're part of a cav unit, you will probably be volentold to do a spur ride haha
no dawg, I'm a former Marine that is now in the Army. The spur ride is definitely not like a regular field op. I think during mine we hiked like 26 miles with stations every so often. I hadn't been that smoked since the crucible.
I was a little blown back by the female SGT saying it was her first time firing a M9 and M4. What kind of an NCO has never fired? Weapon quals not a thing anymore?
I’m pretty sure she meant that as in it’s her first time firing the M4, I’m sure she’s fired at least an M16. The Army would not allow someone to remain in the army without firing any weapon.
I’m pretty sure she meant the M9. Everyone has to deal with M4s in basic training, it’s one of the main focuses of white phase. There’s no way to get through basic without touching or shooting an M4. I myself am going through 19k OSUT right now and we will be focusing on side arms later on in our cycle as we use them a lot as Armor Crewman since it’s hard to fit an M4 in a tank. We have to qualify with them but I’m pretty sure a lot of other MOS's don’t actually need to
Most enlisted only fire M4s with the exception of certain MOS’s (E.G tanker) typically it’s just officers and MPs who qualify with an M9. She at no point mentioned having never fired an M4 she only said she had never fired a M9 or any type of pistol. Use your ears next time bud.
