The San Antonio Spurs signing of Chris Paul was huge but Spurs Trade For Lauri Markkanen would be incredible Spurs News. Lauri Markkanen alongside Victor Wembanyama would be unfair. #Spurs #victorwembanyama #nbatrade
i don't get some of this spurs fans, Therese alot of fans that are angry because the spurs are not doing anything to help wemby, when theres are rumored move that the spurs are doing they will not want to give up assets to get that player, then how do we get that said players without giving up something? If we need to improve now and get lauri it will improve our roster alot better compared to what we have and accelerate the rebuild, we may even shoot for a play-in or late seed playoff team, But getting him will cost us alot since okc is also targeting him, so to sweeten up the deal we need to trade good draft picks like the atl' 1s round pick. We cant fleece every team like what we do with atl, and utah's gm is danny ainge that guy wants to get all the picks available, And take note we have lauri under the radar since we traded demar to bulls, they just dont want to add him on that sign and trade.
They most likely wouldn’t do the trade unless he agrees to sign an extension. And why wouldn’t he? He’d have all sorts of space to work within the Spurs offense, and Victor could help hide any of his vulnerabilities on defense.
At that point they won’t get garland cuz they want to develop the guards we already have up and coming which is prob one of the reasons why we brought cp3 to the spurs
theres no point to trade for anyone at this point unless theyre around the age of victor. you would have to give up years worth of picks and talent through the draft just for lauri, its not worth it, especially with next years draft class.
@@ogarcia423 that’s a stupid move lol there’s no reason to trade our future away for a player who doesn’t even match the timeline of everyone else on the team when the next draft class is stacked 😂 there’s no need to rush trading for stars especially not one like markkanen who seems to have already hit his ceiling
@@denzel8827dosent match the timeline? Your timeline should be compeating this or next year. Wemby is ready and sure as he'll won't wait 5 years to compeate while spurs try their luck in the draft.
Well 1 win8ng team needs stars but quality role players as well have you seen the Mavs and the nuggets during play off and all this with salary cap in mind All teams h1ve a big center now or stacking the paint with a second one or a 4
hell no? why would we trade for someone who s highest potential in our team become a 3rd option in contending team while we havent even found our 2nd star yet? plus he will want a max contract next extension next year since he ll turn 28 by then... then what? id rather we see how our 2024 season will perform and decide from there
The Spurs aren´t going to be able to outbid the Thunder, and maybe not even the Warriors with how desperate they must be now that they missed out on PG and lost CP3 and Klay. That competition would drive up the price too much, and his deal expires next year... absolutely not worth it for a rebuilding team like the Spurs, no need to win this year just take it slow
He has been playing more games every season after he started to work with his own strengthening coach (maybe that's the term in English 🤔😅😂) and been undoing the results of wrong kind of exercise routine where Bulls had him at. Last season he played less but he didn't have any reat between seasons since he was in military during offseason. So I'm guessing his body just didn't recover properly from the season prior.
@TheMilitiaGuy That's what many believe. Personally, knowing the type of guy Lauri is (as a fellow Finn following his career), I have hard time believing that he would have sat happily when there was still chance for the playoffs. He's the type to play if he can, play through the injuries. Of course in the end he does what he is told to do but most likely they only hold him back max few days per injury extra. He didn't even play with national team this summer in Olympic Qualifiers(/Olympic if we would made it) because he's rehabbing the injury from the season. He reaggravated it already once during the season and I have heard that it's the type you need to rehab during the offseason because in the season it's almost impossible to get it right.
Its kinda funny when people who dont understand how this league works make videos. Spurs basicly have win now years coming. When Wembys rookie contract is over, they cant pay that many good players because Wemby is max-contract player for sure if stays healthy. Best time is now. And like someone already said. Dont you know how good Wemby is? Also, dont you know how good Lauri is? Both are so positive players. I dont remeber exact numbers but it was someting like over 5 if i remeber right. Pair them with good passer like CP3 and there is almost sure contender. If i dont remeber wrong, with Lauris current contract, Wembys rookie contract, they have ability pay for someone else too. Maybe Garland or someone other PG? Think abt that and tell me is it better wait when Wemby get paid max and they can get only 1 other big salary player with him? Altou Wemby is so good that may still be enough but imo better chance is before that rookie contract is over. And spurs know this. Thats why they get CP3. Its first piece, he still can pass. Time is now.
i think if the spurs are serious for lauri they will definitely add that pick, its danny ainge we are talking here to that guys wants all the good picks
I'd trade keldon & Sochan and picks for lauri, but it's very risky. Extension would need to be signed by lauri and we'd need to HIT on backup/reserve players. It's a bold move that would require a bold price...not necessary but fans want "sexy" moves so...
Plus Zach Collins injured his shoulder recently. Even though he had surgery on April, I don't think it's doubtful throwing him back to the fire immediately. Lauri looks promising, just make him sign an extension asap.
What? Even if Markkanen was 23 the Spurs wouldn't trade Castle for him. Markkanen will never be an all-star, never be a top 2 or 3 player on the team. He can't even play a whole season (averaging about 56 games per season on 7 seasons). His defense is not that great. Whereas Castle is exactly the kind of player the Spurs like at both ends of the floor (he just needs to improve his shot) and he has potential to have a higher value than Markkanen on the team and in the league. Sure, Markkanen will be a BIG help to the Spurs as a scorer for a few years, but Castle can be part of the Spurs long-term strategy to build a dynasty. I'm still interested in the Spurs getting Markkanen, I just don't think having him on the team is a guarantee of anything. He has to stay healthy and he has to have chemistry. As for Chris Paul playing with Markkanen and Wemby, we all thought that Paul would set the league on fire with the Clippers, having Blake Griffin and Deandre Jordan for "Lob City." That did not work as well as we all expected. But still, that doesn't mean it won't work in San Antonio. Victor is an alien and Markkanen is a very good outside shooter, so I'm hopeful. I would make an offer but not give away the farm.
I think Spurs has to go small. Basically how you would've put a team together with the prime Dwight. They don't need another 7 footer to take up the space down low on both sides of the court.
But he wouldn't. He and VW could take turns playing 4 out as both are decent/good 3pt shooters. Dwight had no range. And with VW being everywhere on defense all at once it could be pretty spectacular, for the right price. After the haul DA got for Gobert he is going to want a kings ransom for a 7 footer that is a plus on offense.
@@3KRacing He is old, slow, and carries a big baggage. Do the Spurs really need a 11 million dollar mentor? I mean, Paul will take away some playing time from the point guards that the Spurs want to develop. Chris will be sharing time with Castle and Jones? I don't see any positives with this move.
I don't how you question the CP3 trade because he has one of the best bbal knowledge and experience as a pg in the league right now. In my opinion, this is a genius trade that the spurs made, not only did they draft Stephon Castle but they added Chris Paul who can teach Castle more plays and the experience that he gained throughout his career, just like he did to Shai during the okc time who is playing in a superstar level.
@@leomarlonestrada5954Phoenix, OKC.. Chris Paul expedites the overall team IQ and instills winning tendencies in young players.. SGA credits his jump in his career to Chris Paul and if you remember he took a terrible OKC team to the playoffs by simply helping them play together.. Chris Paul’s value isn’t on the floor .. Although he will average a solid 10 and 10
