When you first played SPV3, were you blinded by its ambitiousness?

The Covenant forces arrived at Threshold. They found the Humans, fleeing in their large metal ship. It would be an easy task to be done with them. Then they could continue with ending Reach. But they were fleeing towards something unnatural. It was one of the sacred rings. Thel 'Vadam, the fleet leader, ordered to not fire upon the ship, for it could damage the ring as well. He preferred to join the Great Journey free of punishment. "You requested me, Thel?" "Noble Hierarch, I have discovered one of the sacred rings. It lies near Threshold, and the humans plan to land upon it," Thel 'Vadam reported. "Then burn them to the ground. Send your coordinates once the ring has been cleansed," The Holy One said. "It will be done, holy one." Spirits, Banshees and carriers flew down from Thel's ship to assault the ship. The humans had their own fighters, but not as nearly as powerful as theirs. Invasion pods burst through the empty escape pod spaces. Elites, Grunts, and Jackals flooded the hallways. No human witnessed the end of it. The Demon was awakened. Humans fled, Elites roared, blood was spilled. The Pillar of Autumn was slowly descending unto Halo as plasma torpedoes finally landed upon the titanium surface. The plasma cut through the surface like a knife unto butter. Covenant fell to the Demon's hand. Finally, the Autumn hit the ground. Escape pods fled the scene. Thel had finished the unholy meddling humans of Reach finally. They had found Halo. The Great Journey is nigh. Or so Thel thought.

Sounds good for a possible extended ending for SPV3 that would foreshadow Halo 2

Man, honestly, I wouldn't have cared if this was just a 1:1 recreation of the 'Ghosts of Reach' cover in Legends: Origins II. I've been yearning to find that piece of music on its own without the sound effects or Cortana's monologue forever, so this is a really nice cover.
