I just bought the Spy 5000m. I'm having a bit of trouble wiring it up. The RED 2 BLACK AND 2 YELLOW wires are sorted the BLUE wire for remote start I will not be using so that leaves me with a BROWN a GREY and a PINK wires. These 3 wires I don't know where they go could you please help. Many thanks. Very good video and a beautiful motor bike. I have a GL 1800 Goldwing. My Spy 5000m cost me £ 74.00 pounds. I think like you it is a good buy. Thanks again. Willie ( Belfast )
U do need the pink and gray if you want to immobilise it when the ACC goes on (hotwired) with alarm in active mode. However alarm is good enough as its load. You wanna connect that brown wire to whatever your number plate light/rear light/dial illumination runs down to the ignition barrel wires, luckily enough on my bandit it was the brown wire, this tells the unit keys have been put in and disengages the auto arm feature when the keys go in, otherwise youll be settin the alarm off in 30 seconds from starting the engine as it will always auto arm, just had that problem as my brown wires fuse went on the bike
Does in any cutting or all wires plug and play? I will new bike 2020 and don't want to mess with factory wires because of the warranty, I don't care about starting the engine, just the alarm system
Thanks for sharing! Nice bike as well. Can't go wrong with choosing Yamaha. I know this video is a few years old, but I had a couple of questions for you. I have basically the same system installed in mine but branded under Encore. First, are you still using this alarm? Mine never lights the little LED's on the side (blue light you showed). I think their supposed to indicate whether the alarm had been triggered. If that true? And also, have you had any issues with the microwave sensor triggering for no reason? Mine has been doing that and it seems it might be because my battery level is dropping in the cold weather. I know it's not the sensitivity setting. Thanks 👍
Could i use this alarm on my ebike as well? Simply by not connecting all the features like the ignition etcetera. Just the motion- and microwave sensor and that's it.
@@HarolddespuiI Believe so. Just wire it up the way you want. Although I'd consider wiring the starter circuit to prevent the bike from being used for added protection. My problem with these alarms are that they really do drain on the battery a bit when sitting for days.
Did you get the remote separately as that is not the correct remote as it shows the right one on the box I have the one on the box and am thinking cn I bye the recharge remote instead of using the battery remote
Alarme muito fraco fica sem sinal, não mostra status do mesmo o alarme não mostra se a ignição esta ligado ou não, enfim muito fraco existe outros melhores.
hi, your carton shows that remote control has 3 colors, yellow, green and red, how can we change this color ? cant find that in the manual! thanks, great video, cheers :-)
