I prefer Spy-cicle to stock because it helps me with pyros. I despise the deadringer and prefer stock watch so I can actually be behind enemies instead of being an obvious deadringer. The fact it saves me from pyros has been SO useful, especially given the new meta of "Hold down m1 as you shake your mouse every where" that pyros have adapted. Plus the ice statues kinda help with paranoia, and makes enemies more likely to look for you, and not at your team.

I just like it because it freeze people, yes it's not a good reason but im gonna use it.

I used to play spycicle but eventually not having a knife at times became very annoying especially if I want to get one kill and then get out lol.

Plus it’s great in highlander due to easy callouts on weapons (especially the medigun) and positions

I agree. That is the only use and it makes it a good "weapon" for countering the anoyying ass COMBAT ENGY I play that from time to time but I use it mor of a smol Defense if my team has that anoyying scout

Imo how fun fighting a weapon in a how good the weapon is should be irrelevant to the tier list

the diamondback is basically a straight upgrade cause the -15% damage rarely comes into play plus you get free crits for stabbing and sapping i.e. what you do as spy. The poor ambassador needs headshots to crit when the diamondback get crits for basically playing spy normally. From a damage standpoint the diamondback is the best revolver (it's borderline overpowered). If this tier list was from a viabliity standpoint the diamondback would be way higher

I mean the DR has been nerfed to the ground to the point where it isn't always "there for you when you need an escape plan" compared to what it used to be. A watch that I wouldn't personally use compared to the stock since it isn't always consistent when you have to wait a long time for that shit to gain it's full meter back

And diamondback has no damage falloff, so you can basically do better at long range because amby fall off is so extreme.

I mean yea it should be in b tier instead of c tier (imo) but then again if you wanted to reliably two shot classes at close to mid range, solider and scout exist…

@@john_stromboli The Cloak and dagger works best with the Stranger (translation of the guns name) with the extra Cloak but it isn't a must have. All the watches are good it's just preference but I don't like it when someone speaks ill of a good weapon

Spycicle without enemy team Pyro is just a Stock knife with a Custom death effect While it does give away that there might be spy lurking in the area and that's all of it-- Cuz even if you see the corpse Freezing from icycle you wouldn't even know where he went.. You would be paranoid about him just to find out that you forget everything about his existence in mid battle and died Frozen Anymore arguement? cuz it's supposed to be an "Option"

I thought the same as you did, but about diamondback vs deadringer instead of deadringer vs kunai; I hate how the deadringer often gives you a free pass out of situations where you really should have died otherwise.

@@staryoshi06 this game has rocket launchers that load multiple rockets at once in a clearly too small launcher. They don't need to be realistic with the Derringer

Honestly, I understand why people see the big earner as a chain stab knife... heck, I used to as well. But after playing with it a decent amount, I found myself failing to chainstab, for no other reason than dying mid chain. I actually chainstab at least 75% more with the kunai, since I don’t die mid chain

I don't like being one shoted every time, that's why I love the DR and hate the Big Earner

it can also be paired with the dead ringer and Le'tranger for somewhat pre nerf deadringer

dr is def not d tier. its maybe not S tier, but it has its uses. most of the time you need stock or cnd, but sometimes you dont need that invis. dr is perfect then.

Also mvm:The robot engies unsap buildings because of them taking damage, so if you sap a building, the engie won't respond. But, robot engies are both so rare and so easy to destroy that in my experience in every mission you will either see them once or not at all

its probably due to it beeing completely nullified in highander teams due to communications existing and the faster cloak drain not helping unless you are using the l'etranger or CnD since most youtuber take comp into consideration but it is a good casual knife especially for CTF if the intel has one or two engies (i dont think anything less that 5 ubercharges could effectly get passed a stacked engy intel defence)

Exactly. Plus saying that it's not fun to play against doesnt matter, it's a tier list judging how good something is to use, not judging how you like it. Nobody cares about opinion, they just care about something other than opinion. It's good to finally know someone thinks what I am.

It is a good gun but most spy mains don’t understand that you won’t even need to use the ambi from long ranges just mid ranges for self defense

If you are on fire then ur prob dead, with the spy cycle you at least are alive and can grab ammo packs to get it back.

As spy you usually go around getting ammopacks to stay invis so you get the spycicle back really fast

The smoke can actually be more of a help than hindrance, as you can bait enemies by going one way while cloaking, then immediately changing directions once fully cloaked. Once you get the timing down, this opens up a whole new world of gameplay. It's also one of a few reasons why Dead Ringer is the worst cloak (imo).

You can't tell if a disguised spy has crits which leads to a readability issue that is impossible to counter

Honestly I use c&d only if I'm going for a "hiding in the shadows" vibe. Dead ringer is my other go-to weapon.

Also, the Ambassador is better than the Diamondback in a pinch...once you run out of crits with the DB, you're SOL, whereas if you can reliably hit headshots, the Amby becomes a lot better...

I agree. Also, a lot of people find dead ringer similarily annoying to fight against, yet it's in S tier... The spicycle is also much more useful when you're not using a dead ringer or for spies who use their gun a lot. I think it's objectively much, much better than the Enforcer.

@@jspark8990 no not really just a few things like, the diamondback being OP, and yet hintshot puts it fairly low on the tier list because its not fun to play with, on the flip side the deadringer is underpowered in competitive, but in casual its not to bad

that's because you don't appreciate the feeling of slowly creeping into an enemy base and staying there for 5 minutes while getting upwards of 10 kills per life.
