I really like your headlights, but you should've send wiring steps with the installation guide

I'm pretty sure wire tapping and soldering disqualify auto accessories from being called "Plug-N-Play." This is "Plug, splice (but hey if you solder it's better), watch a flippin' RU-vid video because the instructions suck so bad they refer you a RU-vid video, throw a temper tantrum, -N-Play."

Thanks for the instructions! I just installed my Spyder lights into my 2007 GMC Sierra and they look AWESOME! I used the T-tap connectors and they worked great! I did pull back the rubber cover off of the tabs, soldered the leads to the tabs and pulled the cover back over them. They work and look great! All of my neighbors want theirs changed out now! I may have to setup a shop! :-)

Constructive criticism: This wasn't a very good guide. It should be slower with closer views of the wiring and connections - like laying them out, pointing to each wire or set of wires from the side to keep hands and fingers from obstructing view, and THEN slowly making the connection.

You put a lot of effort into making your video's professional. Why don't you actually finish the install so we can see how to do it? When you swathed from the passenger side light to the drivers side light all of a sudden there were additional wires from the truck and the lights. What's up with that?

Very little is soldered on automotive and motorcycle, most is done with the proper factory crimping die, the vibration caused by road travel and vehicle vibration has less chance of a joint cracking, a proper crimp leaves a tad space at the end of the wire before insulation to allow for some flexing of the wire, so if you do decide to solder, do not over solder, or solder right to the end of a terminal to allow for some flexing ability, there are some really good articles online that will explain much better the how to and wire standards with the proper die to use for any type of wiring according to the standard adopted and pull and vibration tests

At first I was upset about having to splice cables to wire these, but once I dug into it I realized how many different things you could do the lights if you wanted. Wasn't a hard job in the long run

So in the video right before he says "continue your installation not all there's still wires from the headlight hanging out unconnected to anything....so extra wires?

Very useful. Now I now where to connect led tube wires to. Just received new style led tube projector headlight for my 2009 ram. 💪

I just got my halos in. trying to install them now and currently have the front end of my Silverado 2011 taken apart and can't go any further because nothing helps. they are not plug and play and its a ton more work then was made out to be in description. thank god I have friends that have done these before... but I'm still not happy that my truck is literally in pieces in my shop right now. I think spyder auto needs to work on directions

The main flaw I see in most of these videos is, no demo after the installation

You just show the black and red wire being twisted around the insulation of the parking lamp wires. Anyone who knows anything about wiring would know that that's not how to connect two wires. However, anyone who might be watching this video with no prior wiring experience would be left scratching their head after doing EXACTLY what you show, and having nothing work. So far I have watched three videos related to headlights I am considering getting for my truck, and I have come to a conclusion: Your video productions leave A LOT to be desired. Your lights themselves look like they might be well made. Then again, they might suck - it's hard to tell without a decent demonstration of them in use - and by "in use" I mean normal use, not just turning them on and off in a showroom, and not showing them only from odd angles that are useless for everyday (like viewing them from above).

THANK YOU! I watched tons of other videos trying to install my halos but they wouldn't come on. This video finally helped! I will be posting a video of my L.E.D. projectors on my 2008 Dodge Caliber SRT-4 soon.

How do we tell which model headlights have CFL and which LED? I don't have any CFL inverter in my car and have no desire to go searching for and installing one (since there is apparently no inverter with the headlights I'm looking at)

Would be nice if you guys could have given a schematic or wiring diagram on paper. Nothing crazy just something simple.

The Honda Accord Projector Headlights comes with HALO. We have two version 1 being CCFL and the other one a LED HALO both version will require you to tap the wire in to a power source.

I installed Spyder Projector Leds on a 05 Corolla now car is Rough idling/vibrating when parked or stoped. What can i Do?

Are the inverters/ballasts included with the headlight purchase on Spyder products?

I checked today, if you wire these the way this video tells you to, your halos and led will only be on when the truck is in park, or low beams are on. Anyone with DRLs will end up driving most days in the daytime with halos and led off.

please check the wire connection. RED=positive BLACK=Negative. First I would try to do is check if its the CCFL or INVERTER. if you do have any further question please contact our tech support dept.Thanks.

if the projector light is flickering it is you connection, check the connection in the housing to see if its loose and also check the connector from the SPYDER headlight to you oem harness

It would be nice if you could change that and make it possible to switch out the leds. I am not going to invest 300 or so bucks on headlights and have an led blow out and not be able to repair it without buying a whole new headlamp!

the CCFL rings themselves are not replaceable, however those rarely fail. usually the black CCFL inverter boxes are what fail. contact spyder auto tech support to see about a set of ccfl inverter boxes. Also, DO NOT CUT OR SPLICE GRAY/WHITE CCFL wires. Connect only the red and black wire leads from the inverter box to your power source.

I should really have looked futher into all this before buying.. I intend to keep and install the headlights but I can assure you I did not know anything about CCFL inverters and can honestly say I trust the company when they say mine isn't suppose to have it... just wish the small installation guide wasn't designed to make you think you needed something that you didn''t to begin with

What if my park/Corner light only has 2 wires not the three as shown in the video? Do I need to remove my fender to access my side markers to see if they have 3 wire set up?

I bought these for mine WJ jeep and got them installed about 2 weeks after getting them. 3 days later 1 of the halos stopped working lol. There goes 250 bucks

What if you have leds and no CCFL inverter? What do you connect the black and white wires to?

Please make a more in depth video. Chevy Silverado 2007-13 model has two sets of wires connected to the parking lights/blinkers. When you quick splice, do you repeat the process on both sets of wires? OR just to one of them? I would imagine you do it to both, but I'm not trying to F anything up.

For that model the LED is sealed inside the housing. The light uses OSRAM LED.

The HALO/LED are not suppose to blink when you have your turn signal light on. That is why we only have two wire 1 being positive (WHITE or RED) and the other one is to negative (BLACK)

My halos have Red and white wires.... no black ground. Any suggestions on which is hot or ground?

Do you have to remove the front clip of the dodge to reach the headlight unit?

you guys need to make updates I bought a pair of sonata headlights and had little help with how different products are now I guess with the halos and they include a black and red wire not even connected to the spyder headlight connector “plug and play” is not really a thing also my low beams do not look anything advertised on their website so be careful and do your research when buying

For a Ford F-150 I basically spliced the wires so that the halo for the low lights and the LEDs come on when the low lights are on and the halo for the high light comes on when the high lights are on. But I can’t figure out a way to make it to where the LEDs and both halos are constantly on. Any tips??

I have 2006 Chrysler 300. Do I just connect the CCFL Halos and LED's to the side markers?

My park lights only come on at night. Couldn't I tap the power from the low headlamp bulb for the LED and CCFLs? I have DRL, so if I wanted the Halos to come on during the day. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

Some of the lights have replaceable LED and some lights have the OSRAM LED. It really depends on that part number.

Do the parklights stay on when the lowbeams come on? or is it one or the other? I'd like to know so I can decide weather I want my halos on all the time.

How do you connect the leds for them to stay on because mine only turn on when I turn on the headlights.

I have a 2011 F150 with the standard OEM headlight (non-HID), to get the LEDS to work, will I need to tap into wires? I took a look tonight and noticed that I have a bulb on the side for DRL that just stays on when DRL is on, flasher bulb/turn signal bulb, and the low/hi bulb...hope that helps

Hey spyderauto, I have a question that I can't grasp the concept of. If I hook the positive/white wire to the parking light wire and hook nothing to the turn signal wire, how am I going to get a turn signal?

DO I wire the Halos and LEDS to the inverter first? Then connect the wire off the inverter to the wiring that comes off the headlight? Or do I wire the wires coming from inverter to wires coming from my vehicle?

bought the halo lights for my 05 BMW 325, none of the lights are only steady parking lights, all the connectors just have two wires so I'm left with picking either having the halos on with the normal headlights and just having them on at night, or with the daytime running lights which turn off at night.... unless I want them wired to the parking light/ turn signal that doesn't have a wire with steady voltage so it will blink when using the blinker....

2001 Pontiac grand Prix. Ccfl halos with no LEDs. The car comes stock with DRLs and I would like the halos to be the DRLs. Right now, the projector lens comes on for the DRLs, and the inner halo comes on bright for the DRL. The projector is taking away power from the outer halo, and I would like to change this. Being that the lens DRL is straight from the socket, and the halos go through the inverter, I'm not sure how to turn the lens off for the DRLs, and make the halos the DRLs. Please and thank you!

Not good on an 2013 F150 that when set to "auto" lights, the parking lights will not come on until it starts getting dark outside. The F150 "DRL" are low beams with reduced power during the day so a splice into that line may not work well for the halo's / LED's. There has GOT to be a better way................

I have a 2002 Accord and I was concerned that the headlights that are on your website (normal projector, Non CCFL) show no extra wires. Does this mean that they attach to the stock connections with no mods?

Better use the relay for the LED set. Every time I turn on the key, then the LED will be light up. The high beam and parking does not help.

What if you just want the LED on as a DRL without the parking lights on? Where do I plug into a hot so can just add a switch for the DRL? Thanks.

My halos only come on when I have my park lights on. If I have my headlights on, they turn off. Shouldn't they always be on since they are wired to my parking lights?

I have a 2012 Ford F150.. I don't understand how to get these into the DRL lights... the OEM Ford lights are Bi-Xenon lamps. and the DRL's run with the low beam wire... so when DRL's come on the low beam also comes on and flickers due to having HID lights.. how do you wire it so that only the LED and halo's come on the DRL and not the low beams? I know lows and DRL's run the same wire and the oter one runs high's.. The volts were 8 when drl was on and 13 when lows on.. please help

2006 Toyota Tacoma the Spyder halos came with LEDS and CCFL wires do both positive wires (White and Red) connect to the side marker positive wire,and the grounds (Black) connect to the side marker ground wire?

How would i wire ccfl halos on my 2008 honda accord coupe

I bought a set of headlights for a Dodge Ram 1500 2006 with CCFL halos I noticed when I took him out of the package there was a sticker saying caution hid bulbs not allowed why? And would be safe to run HID?

Do they come with some kind of warranty in case they blow??
