You’re right. The endura platform is amazing. The pm2 and manix 2 or para 3 get all of the fame. But the endura is thinner than the pm2 and has so much cutting length. Plus the ergos on the endura are ridiculously good. It’s nice to see the k390 to breath life back into the model. It deserves to have a standard version in something better than VG10.
I just bought the endura 4 VG10 today and im loving it so much best knife i have ever bought now i will have to buy the endura 4 K390 i also love my CRKT Minimalist i carry that knife everywhere with me its my edc knife but now i have the endura 4 VG10 i can carry with me also
Love this k390 endura. I use it everyday in the kitchen. Enduras are awesome kitchen slicers. If they made a millie in k390 i would buy in a heartbeat.
I have had a half serrated Endura 4 in ATS-55 for a long time, as you can tell by the steel. For Christmas I just got the exact same Endura 4 in K390 that you just showed. WHAT A KNIFE! I’ve done a little sharpening with the worksharp system followed by rough and smooth leather stropping with polish and I am nearing a mirror edge. The thing is so sharp it will cut you if you stare at it too hard and so far its edge retention has been incredible.
Excellent review ! The Endura 4 is absolutely a must have. It's like having a kitchen knife in your pocket with the weight of a standard Victorinox SAK. My sharpest "from the factory" knife was a ZDP-189 Endura 4. Can't wait to find this version.
I own one of the 1990 endura’s…it was my dad’s..he passed and I inherited it… the tip was broken maybe a 1/8 of an inch , but I reconditioned the knife and now I don’t want to use it …lol… it was AUS-8 , with an inter grated pocket clip, right side only…it was made of a frn type material. Smooth on one side with a grip on the other. It’s a true classic knife!
I have been a big Spyderco fan for about 30 years. I would like Spyderco to get rid of those huge pocket clips, especially on the FRN handled knives, and use the wire clips or a mini clip. Other manufacturers have already shown that most pocket knives do not require those large, non-deep carry clips for secure carry.
Have had the ZDP189 model for years. Just picked up the K390 version. I couldn't agree with you more regarding how great a knife the Endura 4 is. Thanks again for the video. 😎👍
I love my ZDP-189 Endura 4 & Stretch II. As long as you're careful and avoid zip ties & staples.. it'll stay sharp for ages. I've had it chip before because it had a tendency to be on the brittle side. But for "normal utilities".. it stays hair popping sharp for months. It's getting harder to find knives in ZDP nowadays unfortunately. Sharpest "from the factory" knives I've bought.. the only knives I could clean cut toilet paper with out of the box. That's a real "how sharp test".
I have the Endella and straight back Stretch in their K390. Great steel! It may very well be my favorite now. The factory edge on the Endella held up ok, but once I sharpened it, the second edge is still going strong after a lot of use. I've been carrying it a lot. Perfect size for my use.
I can’t argue against this. As far as personal preference goes, the z-wear shaman is my favorite knife of all time but for pure, almost objective usability…the k390 endura *might* be the greatest folding knife of all time. I bought mine as soon as they were released and put micarta scales on it. It’s a total cardboard destroyer of worlds and it carries a lot “smaller” than it is. Plus it’s comfortable to use and (this goes against the statement in this video) I don’t think k390 is that difficult to sharpen at all. If you’re reprofiling or grinding, sure…but that’s the only difficulty I’ve run into with k390. As far as other models go, you could probably also make an argument for the stretch 2 or endela. Both of those are very similar but differ in a couple ergonomic ways, etc. I prefer the stretch but that’s just another personal preference thing. Since this is about the endura, though, I’ll have to agree. From a purely objective standpoint, it’s difficult to point to another model and say “THAT’S superior for everyday tasks”.
Every time I hear someone talk about how extremely hard “x” steel is to sharpen, all I can think is they must be using regular stones. With good diamond stones, I sharpen maxamet, Rex45, s110v etc very quickly and efficiently. I struggle more with s30v and wet stones than I do with maxamet and a DMT diamond plate.
thanks for sharing, thinking of grabbing an endura as a do it all knife inc food prep. but that might not be a great idea with moisture as these bad boys rust ? although i'd try my best to dry and clean it . might grab the 20vc one
I’m pretty crazy about the endura I have the cpms30v the hap40 and the zdp189 which I didn’t think could be roped but when the k390 dropped on a snap decision I bought the police 4 lw instead of the endura and man I just can’t leave it out now so I’ve been packing 2 blades matching the p4lw with my delica m390 is really nice
Tough question... both seem to be really good. Probably K390 but its hard to beat S90V. My advice, dont get too caught up in the blade steel. Focus more on sharpening whatever it is you get. Sharp knives are better!

Extremely light, extremely long holding edge, extremely piercing tip, extremely thin slicer, extremely sharp, extremely hard to sharpen, extremely well balanced you are one extremely nerdy nerd 😂 ..got one myself, one of my fav extreme pocket knives, extremely good edc, hahahah
The spyderco warranty has really bad opinion, especially if you compare it to the benchmade warranty, that's why I have only few knives from them in my collection
Best way to promote your self is to give us the proper content we want. No need to have intros. I watch a good ten videos a day and an intro of a minute or 2 is exhausting lol. But many big channels have introless great content and that would speak for it self as a channel. If content suxxx then an intro to promote your channel is pointless. Just my little two cents

The Military is not in the same size class as the Endura. A more comparable pairing is Military and Police (also available in K390). I also don't think the Millie is available in K390.

Spyderco knives are one of the ugliest in the world. And it is weird to call something "the knife", when the blade is not even 10 cm long. It should be called "the folder", that is what it deserves at most.
