What you learn from making a video is that you draw out the complainers! I own at least 6 each of the Spyderco Endura and Police models. I am retired and live near the ocean. I wear shorts all day. I was a knife dealer. Before shtf, I want a smooth cutting plain edge. After shtf, I may want more options and have more challenges, so a few of the blades are partially serrated or fully serrated.. I don't use a pocket clip and take it off because it signals other people. I like the models with the stainless steel handles because 1. they are heavy and sit in a pocket much better than a model with less weighty scales; and 2. I know how to use knives this size as a yawara stick. Yes, I have been places where I simply pull out the knife and hold it folded in my hand. then it can be either a yawara stick or re-enforcement as if you were holding a roll of nickles and using your fists. For the complainers: one size does not fit all unless you wear a size 40 regular suit and size 10C dress shoes. The rest of us have to struggle through life finding out what works for us.
Personally I like the Endura 4 Stainless... it was my EDC carry for years but nowadays I carry the Endura 4 Wave for "main hand" workhorse blade (I also EDC the Matriarch 2 Wave for my "off hand" defensive blade).
I get it that many like the Stainless model and I should have included it in the comparison, but I just can't see carrying the extra weight if there's an FRN model available. That Matriarch is a wicked blade. Thanks for watching and have a great day!
I know I'm 6 years late to this party. Little brother is CHP. He carries a Kershaw blur because of the assisted opening for cutting seatbelts and side curtain airbags. I've tried to hand him off a PM2, Manix2, Shamen, and M4 Bailout (#glassbreaker). He doesn't carry something "Nice or Expensive" because "If they get covered in blood from an accident, i'm just gonna throw it away and get a new one, and I lose one every few months at an accident scene or just getting out of the car because of our uniforms. If I'm buying 4 a year, I'm not going to carry something that costs 3-4 times as much." There's always been something off about him, we're a Navy/Marine family and he went 82nd and jumped from perfectly good airplanes! :)
Tony Canniffe it was the fully serrated version. It’s quite popular in movies. Will Smith uses one in bright and a dude tries to kill Jason Strathan with one in Parker.
Big is relative. Whoever is used to big Cold Steel knives regards these as medium sized. I carry a Frenzy regularly and have absolutely no issue with it, carry-wise.
You are absolutely correct, my pit bull is my small dog, because it’s big sister is a bull mastiff and her big brother is an American bulldog. However, to the common dog Orange the little pit bull is a big dog…. It’s all perspective.
Play fair, if you are going to compare the Police to the Endura, make sure its the all stainless Endura...then talk weight! "hit things in your pocket'? What? I guarantee you I've carried both the Endura and Police in my pocket for years longer than you have and have never EVER had that thought cross my mind. You also need to get out your ruler, that's not nearly an inch sticking above the pocket. In fact, they are as near identical to ride height as doesn't matter a lick. the narrowness of the Police is throwing you.
