ATTN: I inaccurately stated that the Ikuchi has a ball bearing pivot. The blade rides on small phosphor bronze washers that offer a more robust/low maintenance pivot option. The deployment is still very smooth.
That is one of the smoothest and cleanest blades I've seen. Gentleman flipper? I can see that it my suit pocket but with a black clip? Is that not an option? 🤔
It is smooth and clean, definitely a gentleman's carry option. Unfortunately they do not offer a black deep carry wire clip to my knowledge. The only black wire clip I am aware of is on the Manix 2 LW and it is not deep carry.
We have no ETA at this time but you can sign up for email notification here: www.gpknives.com/spyderco-para-3-lightweight-c223pbk-black-frn-bd1n-plain-edge-knife.html
Sold out in a day? I don't understand why spyderco is the only big knife company that can't meet demand, they are as difficult to get as small batch knife makers, it takes months to release, sells out on pre order and it takes several more months to get in another batch.
Well, this was our second batch and it took a little longer than that. We will probably see more in a month or less but when knives are released the demand is high especially for a popular design. Spyderco also makes a large number of designs most of which are highly varied in design and construction which makes for a heavier load on their manufacturing line.
The taper of the handle locks in the grip similarly to a traditional Japanese design. This isn't really a fighting/stabbing knife so the risk is minimal for intended use.
