Spyderco Seconds Sale… Mystery Boxes!?!
In this video we open up two mystery boxes from the recent Spyderco Seconds Sale.
It was cool to open up a box of mystery knives, I fully encourage anyone picking up one of these boxes!

Thats a awesome box of surprises. I was able to get a factory second Shaman. Just had to refresh a bunch of times until I was able to check out. That DLT Yojimbo 2 is one of my favorite knives. Good stuff.

Hi. I also ordered a few knives during this event. Disappointed that they arrive unprotected in the box. A little piece of adhesive tape to close the packages would not have been a luxury. I didn't know these mystery boxes existed. Thanks for the info. 👍🇨🇵👋

i just got a $400 mystery box yesterday. sale was only really up for about 20 minutes. after securing my box, i went back to buy two murray carter kitchen knives and everything but a massad ayood and siren were sold out. i was lucky to secure my box

Thank you for the video. Those numbers seem literally unbelievable for factory edges. Do you use the low sensitivity or high sensitivity Bess? Do you find any variance based on how tight you make the test wire in the jig? I would imagine less or more tension on the test wire has a significant score impact.

My Bess tester measures in 5 gram increments. I have been testing edges for years at this point. I do my best to make the tension on the test media the same every time. It doesn’t have as big of an impact on the score as you would think. The biggest variable is using slow & constant pressure. I’ve seen many people slam blades through the media and get super low scores, that are not a real test. If you watch my videos, you can see the numbers rise slowly which is the correct way to conduct the test. Thanks for watching!

Damn! Spydies be sharp mofos! Next time you have a TSA, instead of sharpening whatever steel is called for, I'll just buy a Spyderco in that given steel and send it in. Odds are it'll be WAY sharper than what I could do on my KME, DAMMIT 😡

Had a thought. I think it would be quite interesting to see the BESS test results of those same 4 Spydies after being stropped. Would they be sharper? Duller? The same?... Inquiring minds wanna' know, ya' know?
