I just received mine from Walmart -- it is the *underwater* version with the camera in a clear underwater case/cage [plastic, of course]. The brand I bought is "Lixida." I paid $14.09 (pus tax) for it. It came with 5 brackets/holders and the charge/TV-out cable you showed and the same manual. Thanks for this review.

Haha definitely upscaled I don't even think from 720p probably more like 480p. Cute and cheap though! How was the lag while using it as a webcam? Noticeable? Great review!

Thanks for watching :) when I just plugged in and used the camera app in windows 10 it seemed pretty decent minimal lag hope that helps but I did not actually use it for skype calling or anything like that.

Hello, I have a question, do you know how to enable motion detection in this camera when it is permanently connected to the power supply? I would like to record only when someone enters the room. On the SQ11, when you plug the camera into your computer and open the SD card you will see a file named TIMERSET. Open that and change the Y at the end to N, hope that helps for the SQ12

Hi... can you make more serious comparison with the sq11 in the night vision capability.? Cause the sq11 has more infrared led... and it would be great if you make a real picture snap between sq11 and the new sq12. Thanks for the detailed review though... :)

I think the night vision on both is very similar the SQ11 has more night vision lights to performs abit better but I personally much prefer the SQ12 because of its wider field of view and looks much better.

Good review. How much recording time on a full recharge before the battery dies? I had the sq11 and would only be able to get 15 minutes of footage before the battery ran out. Thanks.

Hi Danny. Good review brother. I've got a question, i've just got mine ytd. Charged it. Tried to power it on. Blue light keeps on for 5 seconds then turn into blinking blueish-red light then turn off.. ive tried to quick start recording while its steady blue light..it does the 5 quick blinking then the lights go off(its recording) then aftr abt 9-10 secs blueish-red blinkin comes again then the unit just turn off by itself. Is my unit faulty or something? Any tips how to fix this? Thanks in advance.

This sounds like either two things its not holding charge and turning off or it does not like the microsd. If its the microsd try formatting it to a different format or trying another. To test if it is the battery remember you can record will it is charging so try that and see if it stays on and records when its plugged into a charger or powerbank. Thanks for watching (:

i am just curious if the camera can record while charging via USB and send video out via AV/OUT (cinch, component connector) at the same time? I want to use it as a hidden rear DVR camera in the car, and connect it to my android headunit together - so it should recording and also should be possible to see who is behind me - to see live video on my headunit.. :-)

Not automatically no, but you can start the recording and when the camera dies it should save the clip. If you leave it plugged in and charging it should just film until the sd is full.

Derren Mead Not necessarily they are both good camers I do prefer this one. The main reason I like it more is the wider field of view. Other then that your not missing out on alot. It is better then the SQ11 in my opinion.

I have a small security issue and am looking for a low cost camera which will record in darkness. The problem is the camera must not be seen. So do the LEDs glow red in the dark or are they the better quality LEDs (940nm) that do not show (glow) in the dark?Thank you.

The night vision LEDS are not visible to the naked eye for some reason the camera picks them up though. This camera may be ok but the night vision only works at a short distance like 5metres.

Sounds good. As long as there is no tell tale red glow. Only required to cover 1 to 2 mts Guess using 940nm LEDs. I have CCTV cams with 940s @ night you can see everything but no one can see the cameras.Thank you.

I want to monitor and record onto the SD card, whenever someone approaches my front door. Will the sq 11 or 12 do this. I do not want to record continuously, just when motion is sensed, then stop when motion stops. Also will it sense outside motion from inside, through a glass window?

The night vision light isn't visible to your eyes shows up on camera for some reason. Maybe you could see it faintly, the battery lasts for about 40-50mins

Thanks! Also, which SD card do you recommend? Some videos seems to be more slowly than yours. Maybe is a bad/slow sd card? I will probably buy ~6 of this camera for a university project, so I will also buy 6 Sd cards, so I want to buy a cheap one that work without being a bottleneck.
