Hi Dear , In my production environment I have two database Servers know as DBN1 and DBN2. I have made a cluster between two and DBN1 is my primary database server. Now I used Always on availability feature on both servers and databases were synchronized. Today I am encountering an issue. There is a small question mark icon coming on the DBN1 which is shown by DBN2 always on availability properties. Moreover it is also not showing that it is a primary database. Why this is happening ? Even in your video i can see the question mark on SRV2 --> AlwaysOn High Availability --> Availability Replicas --> SRV1 (Here is not mentioned primary ) . Question mark depends on versions of SSMS i think
Hello and thank you for the video series. It is very helpful and a great overview of AG. Question - Are the four SQL host servers using local storage? I noticed you did not configure storage on the FCI. Thank you!
Hello, what happens if my primary server loses the connection and then re-establishes? -my secondary server would return the modified database and the primary would go up normally? -Would the primary server synchronize the new data in the database? Excuse my English lol please let me know.
Thank You scott: Actually I was thinking to add video 5 but, there was nothing much left but, I added a separate related video : Please watch: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Wk8wFU93ToM.html
So what is the point of the LISTENER? is that the IP that you connect your application too? I am a bit confused, how does an single application that uses a sql database, fail over to the secondary database?
Thank you for watching my video Michael: An availability group listener is a virtual network name (VNN) to which clients can connect in order to access a database in a primary or secondary replica of an AlwaysOn availability group. You point applications to the listener (which is registered with DNS) and directs traffic in the AG.
