Hi! I just have 2 questions regarding MS SQL Developer Edition. I downloaded SQL Server Dev. edition and Visual Studio Comunity edition for learning purposes. I am creating a windows app using C# and would like to connect it to a database of SQL server developer edition as backend. Is that allowed as long as I don't use it for commercial purposes? My other question is If I create a database in SQL Server Developer edition is it allowed for the database to be exported (extracted) and imported in SQL Server Express edition for commercial use? You can use developer edition to build the software but when its running in a production environment you are not allowed to use it. " You can move database between different editions of SQL Server including Express - you just need to make sure that the database doesn't use any features that are available in Developer/Enterprise edition.
