Thanks, Good Video. If we want to explain in one liners - Row_numbers generate IDs; Rank Generates Rank and skips subsequent ranks if the same rank is assigned for multiple rows; a dense_rank make sure ranks are not skipped. is that right?

Is there any difference between partition by and rank function? They both look to do the same. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Syed Munazzir Ahmed , I think, Partition By is used, when we want to number/serialize the records having a common attribute/ group {in the above example, Vendor Name}. Rank and Dense_Rank are used when we want to give an attribute/ group a unique number {in the above case, CustomerName}. Does this help you?
