Sir, if you dont mind can you please answer this Interview Question. (1) Explain 1 or 2 differences between SQL Loader and External Tables?

External tables are created using DDL. They allow you to query flat files as is they were tables using SQL. You can incorporate external tables into PL/SQL programs seamlessly. SQL Loader is a separate utility run from the operating system, so it can't be called natively from PL/SQL or SQL.

I wonder why won't oracle to extend sql*plus COPY to support more column types? Same question goes for good old exp/imp tools, not the datapump, but the ones which are using a file on a client side machine. In a secured environments, when you have only sql access to database they were always tools of one's choice to do the job

The old exp/imp are not being actively developed now. They are kept purely to allow import from old versions of the database as one method of upgrade. They will never add any new functionality to them. SQL*Plus and of course SQLcl are still actively developed, so I guess it would be nice if they had the support you mention.
